Wonderful Product!!

I had my current hairdresser apply this and we were both very pleased with the results. I am an African American woman in my 40's and have been using relaxers for years. I wanted to use a healthier no-lye relaxer on my hair. My hair retained a lot of moisture with this product, and I could tell the relaxer was very mild on my head, comparatively to previous relaxers that my hairdresser has used. For the first time I bought Index 2, as my hair is "normal," however my hairdresser encouraged me to try Index 1 the next time to see my results with that, as my hair processed with Index 2 under the recommended time. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars just because it is on the expensive side for a relaxer kit; otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. I do understand the quality of ingredients used and realize that needs to be taken into account; however it would still be nice if the product were a little less expensive. However, I like knowing that I am making a healthier relaxer investment for my health, so I am willing to sacrifice the additional money. I will be purchasing the Index 1 for my next touch-up and I will post another review comparing the two products then.

No breakage

I have used Phyto Specific for about 12 years--alternating between Phyto 1 & Phyto 2--and would never consider another relaxer for my hair. Although pricey, it is worth it because I can expect consistent results each time I use it. It leaves my hair silky smooth. No breakage or scalp irritation. However, I am taking off 1 star and giving it a 4 only because of the slight smell.
