Probably better for oily skin

I ran out of my retinol cream and replaced it with this one, as I like Replenix products. The serum is indeed dry and works well, I just keep getting stuck in the "purging" phase, where it pulls up impurities and you get some acne for a few days. It makes cleansing your skin easier and does improve skin texture over time, I just always need to add a moisturizer to this cream since it's drying for me and my skin can occasionally look worse the following morning bc of all the impurities coming to the surface. It's not a lot--I just rarely get any acne so I find it annoying. They go away quickly too.
