TruPhysical vs Original Intellishade

I've been using both this product (TruPhysical) and the original Revision Intellishade tinted moisturizer. I go back and forth on which I like better. Both are non-irritating and did not cause any breakouts on my acne-prone skin. I like that TruPhysical is mineral based and has way more zinc oxide in it (which is supposed to be better at protecting you from harmful UV rays. Good for my skin that deals with melasma and dark spots! TruPhysical feels thicker/more dense or claylike when rubbing onto my skin. My dry skin absorbs this product really fast. Because of this, I feel like I have to use way more product to get full coverage... which means I'll run out sooner and have to spend more money to replace more often. With the Original Intellishade, a little goes a long way and feels easier to rub in. Under makeup, I like both but actually prefer the TruPhysical because it dries faster and I can apply foundation soon after without having to worry about building up wet layers and then having to set it all with dry powder. In conclusion, I worry that TruPhysical might be too drying for my dry skin in the winter months. I'll probably stick to the Original version but switch to this for the summer when I need more protection and something that's faster drying. I could see TruPhyscial being a great option with people that have more normal/oily skin. Definitely felt less shiny upon application.

Good product

It blends in fairly well with my pale skin tone. Lightly moisturizing.

Good, not great.

This has VERY minimal coverage, if any. I do think it helps to somewhat even out skin tone, doesn’t look cakey, and my skin looks better with it on than without it. The sunscreen seems to be effective so far. I can’t speak to the skincare side of things (meaning if it helps with fine lines, etc.) since I just started using it. If you are looking for a sheer tinted moisturizer with sunscreen this is good, but for the price point I’d want it to be great.

Amazing, but too dark

I love this sunscreen, but it's too dark/orange on my fair/light skin.

Very natural looking with enough coverage

So this was a bit a challenge to understand the best application and skincare to use with this... This product comes thick and kind of oily, so the skincare you’re using makes significant difference...Some of my moisturizers made the face look greasy and oily...My skin type is combination-dry, but once I found what serums and moisturizers are good match with this ...my skin looked glowing and smooth. My skin is fair but I wished the color of this product would be slightly darker...

Nice Sunscreen

I like this product. It has a high concentration of zinc which I prefer over chemical filters, as I have melasma. I also like the inclusion of thermus thermophiles, which claims to help with heat energy in the skin. I would prefer an even higher concentration of zinc if they redo the formula.

New intellishade

After using Intellishade Matte for about a decade here are my thoughts off the new chemical free version. Pros: great coverage, natural, reef safe, same great one shade fits all, has not given me breakouts. Cons: not matte, I definitely need to use powder on top, leaves a slightly greasy wet feel after application. I’m not sure if I will continue to buy this version. I love that it is better for the planet and skin; however, it does not work quite as well for my skin as the matte version. Overall, very good no clogged pores like some other mineral sunscreens!

nice physical blocker, does have a smell compared to reg intellishade

This is very similar to the regular Intellishade in coverage and ease of use. It leaves a dewy finish, not matte. The main difference that I notice is that this one has a more prominent and noticeable sunscreen type smell. The smell does fade after you put it on. I am otherwise happy with using this product and will continue to use.

Good sunscreen/makeup combo

I have been using this as my daily sunscreen as well as makeup. It has a fair amount of coverage, probably more than I’d normally use. I find it a little hard to spread, so I use a separate moisturizer first and then apply. It could be nice if it came in more than one tint, it’s a tad dark for me and is on the yellow side. I’ve already purchased a second, so I plan to use it for the summer months.

Good but too thick on skin

I loved the original and matte Revision Intellishade but decided to give this one a try. Was disappointed to find it is very thick and does not leave skin smooth like the original. It does stay on and protect.

Liked it

I tried the Intellishade matte product first since the samples seemed to work well. Unfortunately, the full sized matte product just did not go on evenly on my skin so had to be returned. However, the TruPhysical provides good coverage and blends in well. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because it's shiny, so you need to put on powder.
