As other reviewers have stated, it is thick and almost tacky in texture (it's definitely not a balm or a gloss), but it's an excellent product for keeping lips soft and keeping them from getting dry and flaky, especially in winter. I use once at night after my cleansing routine and once in the morning when applying my other face products -- it's not really something that I would carry with me and apply throughout the day and it doesn't seem necessary to use it that often for it to be effective. Lips are definitely smoother and appear plumper after application.
