Another great Skin Medica sunscreen
I love the Skin Medica Essential Defense Mineral Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 35 Sunscreen, untinted version. This sunscreen formulation is a great hybrid version. I gravitate towards all mineral sunscreens because hybrid versions tend to irritate my eyes. This one doesn't. It goes on smooth, absorbs quickly and works well under makeup for me. The niacinamide is an added bonus that helps to keep those pesky skin spots at bay. I use it more in the warmer months when my combo skin is not as dry.

This is my first time using this particular sunscreen, long time SkinMedica customer though. I typically use a tinted sunscreen but I wanted a higher SPF, so I opted for this one. After purchasing, I realized it was made for oily or acne skin, which is opposite of my complexion. I was nervous it would make my face dry or tight, but it was plenty moisturizing! So based on my experience, I really think any skin type could use this. It doesn’t leave a white cast and is super easy to apply, absorbs immediately. I actually like the texture of this one better than my usual tinted sunscreen and makeup doesn’t pill over it. It’s a winner for me!

I have been using the tinted version for years but wanted to try this for the days I want to go more natural. Takes less rubbing-in than other white SPFs I’ve tried, it’s easy to wear under makeup too. Has a mild chemical smell but it’s neutral as far SPFs go and I don’t mind it
