I don’t like sunscreen. It usually irritates my sensitive skin and also usually feels so heavy, that I can’t wait to wash it off. This one seems to be lighter feeling, not smothering my skin. Therefore, it is my go to sunscreen.

Time saver
Before buying this product, I was buying a different brand of a total defense product and yet another brand of facial sunscreen. I purchased this to consolidate these two steps and it lowered the overall cost I am loyal to several SkinMedica products, and I will keep buying this one. Overall, I do like the two steps with the products I had already been using, but for days I am in a hurry, this is both a more reasonably priced option and quicker to get out the door. I will definitely continue to keep this product on hand.

Best SPF product
I have used this product on my face for awhile but tried yet another based on a review. I found that this one is the best for me. I can mix it with my moisturizer for days that I wear no foundation or wear it on top of my foundation without it becoming grainy. Love the protection.

A bit too dry
I usually use Total Defense 34. I tried the 50 SPF and find it difficult to apply to my face. It leaves white streaks if I’m not careful to rub it in. It definitely is not moisturizing. I will be going back to using the 34 SPF even during the summer.

Not my favorite sunscreen but has multiple benefits
I found this sunscreen to be a bit thick and sticky. I do like that it is water and sweat resistant, and is a physical AND chemical sunscreen. My eyes are sensitive to chemical sunscreens and don't seem to be as bothered by this product. I read about the protection from infrared rays, and from what I gathered, the same protection can probably be achieved by layering an antioxidant serum with a non-infrared sunscreen. Because it has such a high SPF and is water/sweat resistant, I will likely wear this to the pool, rather than under makeup. I'm not sure if I would order it again, but am sure I will finish the bottle in time.

Reccomended for my Melasma
An esthetician recommended this product as part of a routine to assist with my melasma. Just over the past year melasma began to appear dramatically on my face, and I have been working hard on a routine to help lighten/reduce the pigmentation. I was afraid that a 5-day trip to MX would set me back and/or make my melasma worse or create new patches. As much as I tried to stay out of the sun in MX, during the times we were in the sun, I used this everyday and reapplied throughout the day. I did not experience any sunburn and my melasma did not worsen or darken even after the trip.
