This was just okay, for me. It was a rather thick gel. I really had to work with this gel to get it to where I could put it in my hair and distribute it evenly. Once I am able to do that, I will scrunch my hair. As far as the hold, it's not very heavy. I do have thicker curly hair, however for me this was a very light weight gel , even though thick coming out of the bottle. Everyone's hair, and curls, are different. And everyone has different experiences, it seems with different products. I do have slightly colored treated hair, my curls are a little on the dry side, I need a lot of extra moisture at times. I didn't feel like this dried my hair out, it was just a little hard to work with. Thank You Lovely Skin:)
