I attempted to use this light to reduce melasma. The light worked perfectly, and as advertised, but did not have enough light in the green wavelength to effect any reduction of the melasma. The light also cycles through red, yellow and green wavelengths which did not provide enough time in the right wavelength to effect the melasma.

I have been using this light almost every day for 11 weeks. There are pros and cons, but overall I’m happy with the results. In the first two weeks I noticed increased clarity in my skin tone, and my hands looked years younger. After a month, I noticed that my spot of melasma was lighter than I was ever able to get it with lasers, peels, or topicals. It’s still there, but lighter. One morning I was rubbing my face and noticed that my skin felt much tighter. I ran to the mirror and it was noticeably less saggy, especially around the mouth and jaw where my skin was loose. I didn’t expect those results, and I’m absolutely thrilled! I didn’t really notice a big improvement in wrinkles, but my "before" photos show that there has indeed been improvement, especially in the finer lines around my eyes. Also, I've had a flesh-colored bump on my nose for the last 15 years, and it is noticeably smaller now. So this technology is pretty amazing. As far as the cons, it is much smaller than it looks in the photos. The light panel is only 6 inches square, but my face from forehead to chin is 8 inches. Therefore, I cannot do this in 5 minutes as advertised. I need at least 10 minutes to do my face, and more if I want to really get the sides. Add to that time for your neck and hands. I usually end up doing this a minimum of 20 - 25 minutes a day, but I do it at night to help wind myself down and get ready for bed. I listen to relaxing music and meditate, so it’s a pleasant experience. Also, I imagined putting this on my night stand and letting it hang over my face while I lay in bed, but the lamp is too small for that. I’d have to put the whole thing on my bed right next to my head, and even then the cord wouldn’t reach that far. So I put it on my desk and sit in front of it. I still think it’s better than a hand-held, but I wish it were large enough to cover my entire face at once. I’m sold on red light therapy, and I am looking forward to seeing the accumulated results.

It works, but keep expectations realistic
I have been using this Rejuvalite on average about 5x/week for about 3 months. I noticed an improvement in forehead lines after about 3 weeks. They are still there, but they seem to be less deep. The beginnings of the vertical lines between my eyebrows have almost disappeared. After about one month, I noticed that the slight redness in my cheeks has faded, which is an unexpected bonus. My main skin concern was some dark freckling from the sun, which seemed to get darker and darker over the past 10-15 years, despite wearing sunscreen every day. After about 3 months, the freckling has started to fade and I no longer look in the mirror and cringe like I did just a few months ago. I still have a long way to go, but I am encouraged enough to continue using the Rejuvalite regularly. I note that the included eye protection (white, opaque) works better for me than a pair of dark-tinted eye goggles from a competing product. I keep my eyes closed during treatment. Even though the dark tinted goggles made my eyes seem more comfortable than with the white shields, I think the fact that you can see through the dark lenses and not through the white shields is a measure of how much light actually gets through. I say this because after using the dark-tinted goggles with my eyes closed, my eyes felt drier and irritated later in the day--something that I don't experience on days when using the included white eye shields.

The product has higher fluency (30J/sq.cm/5 min according to the company) than other devices on the market, it has 4 light wave lengths, and it is really quick (5 min/treatment). You also don't need to hold on the device to perform the treatment. As far as the results I have seen, I believe there is a slight added plumpness to my face. There are lots of studies on red light therapy proving that it works (e.g. NASA), and also on IR light. This is the reason I invested in this device, but I am still waiting on more visible results. I have used the device since July 17, but took long breaks from it because I was away from home for about 2 months. Let's say I used it for about 3 months.
