Untangle with less breakage
I bought this brush because I have fine, fragile hair and want to hang on to as much of it as possible! When I get out of the shower, my hair is very snarled (even with a good conditioner) and I end up breaking/pulling hair when I untangle it. I still get hair in the brush when I use this, but I do think it's less than with my regular wet brush. I would not say the difference is dramatic, but I think it helps. I don't feel the bristles are anything special, but the way the handle is designed I think you use less pressure when brushing? That is my take on it anyway. I do feel the price is pretty high for what it is though.

Couldn't use as planned
From the description, I thought this would be a wonderful brush for my ultra fine and thinning hair. I specifically ordered it thinking it would be a gentler way to comb out wet hair after shampooing without creating so much hair loss. However the little spikes are so soft and flexible that they don't begin to do the job. It does work well to massage my scalp when my hair is dry but that's the only use I've found for it.
