I have used Gommage for 20 +years. It’s simply an amazing product for exfoliating sensitive skin. A lot of scrubs and/or masks irritate my skin, especially as I get older. This does not. I was introduced to Yonka products working at a high end salon as a stylist. The correct way to apply and remove Gommage is such, cleanse, pat face dry, apply Gommage, use a gentle rolling back and forth motion with your finger tips to allow mask to peel away. The objective is to gently rub/ roll product off allowing the dead skin cells to attach themselves to the product. Do NOT wash or rinse mask off. Wait until the process is complete before doing so. Here’s a tip, if you find your skin absorbs this very quickly and isn’t rubbing/flaking off easily, apply another layer over the first layer. Wait 2 minutes and then gently rub/roll off with finger tips. This just means that your skin is extremely dry and requires another layer of the product for the dead skin cells to “hold” on to for the exfoliation process. This does NOT mean there is something wrong with the product. Sometimes during different times in our lives, our skin is lacking moisture. Obviously do not apply too close to the eyes. After all the flaking/peeling process is complete, I like to either rinse or rewash with Yonka Nettoyant Creme. It’s a very mild sensitive cleansing cream. Next, apply Yonka lotion (toner) and any extras you use form this line. Hope this helps.

I like Yon-ka's Grommage Gentle Botanical Polish and have used it off and on for years. It cleans well and leaves the skin very soft, but rubbing the stuff off is pretty messy with little bits falling all over my very small bathroom counter even though I attempt to keep my face directly over the sink. If you have a modern bathroom with a decent sized sink and counter it oughtn't to be a problem, though. It's a good product.

Generally I use skin polish not very often, I would say four times a month, not twice a week as often suggested. I have normal skin with a bit of dryness touch during harsh winter months. Yon-Ka Gommage can be used really twice a week, it’s not just very gentle, but leaves skin with some residual moisture. In my case it’s good for winter, but I would prefer later during summer months a deeper exfoliating polish. For now this polish does get my face better prepared for next step, putting a night or day cream on fresher and cleaner skin.
