It’s time to let your inner rock star shine. In this simple Halloween makeup tutorial, we’ll show you how to use bold makeup and metallic shades to create a superstar look. Follow these steps and you’ll be ready to rock out all night.

Start by using an eyelid primer to keep your dark shadow in place. For this makeup tutorial, we chose bareMinerals Prime Time Eyelid Primer. Once you’ve covered the entire lid, apply a deep purple eyeshadow like glo minerals GloEye Shadow in Eggplant to the outer corners of your eyes. Extend the line into your crease and blend well. Then, apply a silver metallic shadow like jane iredale 24K Gold Dust in Silver to the middle of your eyelid. Gently pat the color onto your lid, and really pack the pigment into this area for a glamorous look.

Next, apply a thick line of black liquid eyeliner (we used jane iredale Liquid Eye Liner in Black) to your top lash line. Flick the line out slightly near the end for an edgy look. Then, line your waterline using a black eyeliner pencil like jane iredale Eye Pencil in Basic Black. Remember to sharpen the pencil beforehand, so you can avoid any contaminants or irritation. Follow with two coats of volumizing mascara like glo minerals Lash Boosting Mascara.

Apply a natural blush to your cheeks and blend well. To give your look extra sparkle, dust a shimmery silver powder over your cheekbones.

Line your lips with a dark berry shade like jane iredale Lip Definer Pencil in Berry. Then, fill in your lips with a lipstick that is about two shades lighter. For this look, we chose Mirabella Colour Vinyl Lipstick in Pink Polish. This will define your lips and give you a superstar pout. Purse your lips a few times to blend the liner with the lipstick and soften any harsh lines.

Polish off your look with a wild hairstyle that’s worthy of rocking out. Give yourself spiky, messy ends with a styling paste or use a thickening hairspray and teasing comb to really turn up the volume. Finally, pick out your favorite rock star outfit. The more spikes, rhinestones and leather, the better!
