How-To Halloween: Mother Earth

Mother Earth is a symbol of life, nature and creation. It’s also a very simple and elegant Halloween costume. Follow these tips to create a memorable Mother Earth makeup look.

After applying your foundation, use a hydration spray to keep your skin looking dewy and fresh. Tuck it in your purse for touch-ups through the night.

Apply a green shadow around your face, concentrating it around your temples and hairline. Blend it well with a large powder brush.

Since this look has bright eyeshadow, it’s best to use an eye primer so your color stays in place. Once you have completely covered your lid with primer, use an eyeshadow brush to apply a canary yellow eyeshadow to the entire lid.

Then, apply a green shadow to the corners and crease. For a bolder look, try a neon green or a bright blue.

Next, line your eyes with a soft brown eyeliner. Have fun with the eyeliner – you can extend the line out to your temples to make it look like a branch with leaves, or you can just draw a simple line. Then coat your lashes with a brown mascara.

Keep the rest of your makeup natural with a peach blush and a light pink lip color.

Finish your look with a natural, messy updo. Use a salt spray to keep your tresses looking like you just stepped out of a forest. For bonus points, use bobby pins to add a few fake flowers to your hair.
