I have finally found the best mineral-based facial sunscreen with this product! I have rosacea and sensitive skin, so I have tried many brands. I love that this product has a low toxicity rating on EWG, and is dermatologist-recommended. I get no irritation and full coverage with this product. Tip: use a regular daily moisturizer underneath to eliminate a thick white film from the zinc. I highly recommend!!

I usually cannot tolerate sunscreen of any sort - chemical agents cause immediate red burning on my skin, and even some physical ones will cause hives and itching. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Gentle Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 so far has been great! Slight white cast initially but it sinks in, otherwise sometimes I also mix in a little tinted bare minerals moisturizer for some glow. Best of all though, no sunburn and no adverse reaction!

Doesn't absorb, stays white

I have no doubt that this sunscreen protects your skin. I don't like it because it goes on as a thick white layer and doesn't get much better. I use a lot of sunscreen because I need the protection when I golf. Possibly if you use a very small amount you might get a better result. But this one is not for me.

Thick coverage

I am giving this five stars because of the high mineral content. It does leave a white coating on my skin that does melt in eventually. Definitely for someone that wants a serious sun block. With 15% zinc you are covered!!

Gentle, but Thick & Leaves White Cast

I'm always looking for a great mineral sunscreen. The pro about La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Gentle Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 is that it's as gentle as its name. The cons are that it's thick to apply, and it leaves a noticeable white cast; I'm quite fair and yet this sunscreen is very white on me. It eventually soaks in a little, but the problem worsens with each re-application. I'm using it up on my arms and face when I'm at home, and don't plan to re-order.

Gentle, effective mineral sunscreen

This sunscreen goes on white, but becomes invisible when absorbed into the skin. It goes a long way, so I put it on lightly. It has completely prevented sun burn , even in long days on the beach. It is very gentle and I prefer using mineral versus chemical sunscreens.

Favorite face sunscreen

After many unsuccessful tries, this is the best very-low-silicone sunscreen I can find for daily use. It's a bit thick in texture, but don't let that deter you! I use bare minerals complexion rescue tinted moisturizer on top (after blending in the white cast, but before the sunscreen is completely dry). I'm happy with the way this sunscreen protects facial skin, and it wears well year-round. Great for makeup application - does not make products pill, and doesn't dry out skin. Nice product. Hoping this review helps someone who had a similar sunscreen-search saga.

I did not have success with this product. I found the consistency to be too grainy and pastey to smooth over my skin evenly. It left a pretty rough white cast as well, and I have pretty pale skin. I would not recommend.

Best sunscreen I’ve used for highly sensitive skin

I have highly sensitive skin with contact dermatitis and eczema, so I have to use physical sunscreens. This is the first sunscreen that I have used on my face that doesn’t cause acne or dermatitis. I have olive skin tone and it does take a little time to work it into my skin but after a minute or less of blending, there is no white sheen.

Creamy texture

It has a lovely creamy texture that melts into the skin and leaves a satin finish. Being a 100% mineral sunscreen, a cast is expected but the cast level is very low (in my opinion) among mineral sunscreens. My preference is layer a thin layer of tinted sunscreen on top of it if I need to go out. Also unlike a lot of other mineral sunscreens, this won’t dry out my skin at the end of the day.

Great Product, Terrible Smell

I decided to use this product over the summer as it is mineral based and better for the environment. As long as you re-apply at standard intervals it works great! Five consecutive days on the sun-filled beach, and I barely got sunburned (due to lack of re-application one day). There are two reason I did not give it five stars: the smell and it dried out my skin. This product smells like stale urine and it was incredibly drying to my skin, which runs dry anyway. So if your all about "function over fragrance" then I highly recommend but beware the smell is very off-putting.
