Love Avene products but this one was a bit too light for me. I am looking for a rich serum and this was not enough for my skin. However, if you prefer a light serum please try this one because it is nice and includes antioxidants.

The serum goes on light, you need very little, as it goes a long way and dries quickly. I use it under moisturizer for days when I need extra protection and other times I wear it before bed. I like the way it feels. I take excellent care of my skin and I have very good skin for a woman in her 50's. Highly recommend.

In My Defense
I had enjoyed using the water cream formula during the cooler months, but thought I'd like to try a little less moisturizing Vitamin C for the more humid months. The defense serum is lighter but glides on just as nicely. I thought perhaps it would be "stronger", but I didn't really see any difference in efficacy, I do like the lighter formula for summer. I would purchase again.

This serum seemed to balance my skin and provide light hydration.
