it goes on smooth and is gentle to my skin. I have been using it for over3 weeks and I am getting compliments that I am looking refreshed. Make sure you use a sunscreen. it is sun sensitive. Do not over do it with the product. It is excellent.

Different from Retinol
I'm been using skinmedica retinol .5 almost everynight and had pretty good tolerance. I read about the efficacy of retinal and wanted to try. Hard to compare if I went to skinmedica .1 to this but the Avene is stronger. I'm happy with both and tolerating ok - couple try days where I took a break for a day or two and then jumped right in.

Gentle but Effective
I like this product - it really softens my laugh lines quickly and I see my skin being more plump and smooth within 2 weeks of using it. It is also non-irritating. I didn't experience any peeling, redness, or flaking even though I ramped up to using it every other night quickly. It causes a bit dryness but that's expected for all retinoid products. I would recommend it!

I started using Avene RetrinAL 0.5 & then moved up to 0.1. I like this product because it has a creamy texture & doesn’t dry out my mature skin as much as other products. At this stage in my life, this is ideal for my skin; I want the benefits of RetrinAL without being overly dry.

Favorite retinaldehyde!
I love this product for its effectiveness on more sensitive areas like my neck and under eyes but without redness, irritation or flaking/peeling that tretinoin can cause. Another main reason I choose this over similar products is because it does not contain dimethicone. I prefer products that absorb into my skin without leaving that silicone layer on top. I know some prefer the feel of dimethicone, and that is the big difference here for me. Hope this helps!

Retinol for Sensitive Skin
After using a bottle of the RetrinAL .05, I decided to give the stronger formula a try. I was a bit nervous as I have rosacea prone skin and I know that can aggravate it. Although I have used Rx strength formulas years ago, my skin is now "mature" and has become more sensitive. So far, so good, although I am taking it slow, using it twice weekly. Fingers crossed, I'll start seeing some good results! I am very pleased with Avene products!
