This is a brand I trust to provide protection from the sun
I purchased this both the berry and the blush. I have a lighter skin tone (Fitzpatrick type 2) and love the berry color; however, the blush doesn't look good on me. It's more of a tan/peach color than a pink blush color. The blush cancels out my naturally pink lips and makes them look like I put sunless tanner on my lips. For the pros, I like the confidence I get that this is providing UVA and B protection and love this company because they focus on sunscreen products and do a lot of RD. The cons are that it's slightly drying, doesn't last on my lips and is hard to apply on my lips. It seems like the design if more intended for the cheek area since it's not like a lipstick with a rounded tip. Mine were slightly concave so I had to use the rim of the balm to apply to my lips, and then use my fingers to smear it on. I have tried it on my cheeks, but it doesn't seem like it lasted throughout the day either. I hope they make some improvements with it lasting and with the applicator.

Ok product but not special
The product seems fine but I must say I am not clear why we need a sun protective blush on top of sunscreen. I guess you can use it on your lips but I use spf 30 lip balm. I guess for people who don't wear any sunscreen or makeup, it might give a little sun protective local color. But I can't really understand the need for the product. The product itself was fine, color a bit bright but good for sensitive skin--no reactions.

Finicky application but I do like it
I know a lot of reviewers have mentioned how dry the stick is...I do have to admit it is dry. Whenever I use it, I first gently rub the top with my finger to soften it up a bit. Fair warning...the berry color is highly pigmented, so you really can't just drag the stick on your lips or cheeks without the results looking clownish. It's a lot better to use your finger and gently dab a light layer on your cheeks and/or lips (and then build up the color from there as desired). For lip application, make sure you have a good moisturizing layer on your lips first. I know that all sounds finicky, but I personally like that it's SPF 50 and all mineral. I've had a heck of a time finding a decent SPF lip balm that's not chemical (chemical sunscreen ingredients make the skin on my lips burn and get angry red). I also ordered the rose color of this balm, but it's been on backorder so I have yet to try it.

It’s excellent in every way barter trying close to 20 tinted moisturizers with SPF, THIS IS THE BOMB. I wouldn’t recommend for darker skin tones but for you, check out the shades they now offer in the new Flex formulation. I’ll stick to the original since it works for my skin tone. You even get a bit of coverage which helps with redness if you don’t want to use foundation. I’d say coverage is light-medium. Just a little concealer here and there and your set.

Great idea from Colorescience. I use it in the cheek area and on my lips. I first apply a lip moisturizer with sunscreen to my lips, then the Balm, then another coating of lip sunscreen. Result, natural looking lips for a day time look.
