Not even close, BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA!
Unfortnatley, this is very watery compared to the original foaming cleanser, and how well it works to clean the skin has been watered down with this new formula as well. I got lucky and had a back stock of the original version and on my last bottle mid 2026! My skin is oily, yet very sensitive and all I can use is this brand UV clear sunscreen and a cleanser. I am prone to peri-oral dermatitis that can turn into full fledged rashes and infections that are not exactly acne and do not respond to anything but time and cleansing- effective yet gentle cleansing is a balancing act, and the OG formula was amazing. I used it for years, so did my teenager with hormone acne. I only used this new version three times, I could tell right awy it was not cleaning all the way or what I was use to. In one day, I started to get a little break out in the fold of my nose indicating oils etc are not being removed enough. Onward for a search for something new that won't irritate and cleanse effectively, and Customer Service has been great about helping and recommendations. ELTAMD WHY RUIN A GREAT THING????????

Not worth the purchase - not a replacement for Foaming facial cleanser
If you were a fan of the Foaming facial cleanser that was recently discontinued, this is not a replacement. It is not good. It strips my skin, leaves it red and doesn't foam. It doesn't travel well. This will be my first and last time purchasing this product. Very disappointed.

Breaking with out with acne
I was a loyal user of the recently discontinued Elta MD face wash for sensitive skin—I used it for years and it worked wonders for me. Now with it being discontinued, I decided to try this new face wash. I’ve used this face wash for 1.5 months now and I’ve been breaking out across my face—my cheeks, my chin, and forehead. Very unusual and very uncomfortable! My skincare routine has not changed except for this face wash and I haven’t seen this much acne in ages. It’s such a bummer and a waste of $35.

not a good cleanser
I do not recommend this product. Its diluted, does not do a good job cleaning your skin, and leaves skin stripped. I loved EltaMD cleanser that is now discontinued. But this product is not good, not good at all. waste of money
