After using another well known tinted SPF I wanted to try Elta because it was half the price of my current product. I put it on 3x throughout the day, felt a bit warm and flushed at the end of the night after cleansing and moisturizing. Reapplied to run errands the next day. Face felt warm but wondered if I had maybe gotten a bit of sun the day before. By the next morning my face was red, hot, and swollen to my eyes. Dermatologist appt. later that day confirmed must be an allergy. No issues with professional sunscreens or products prior to this. Esthetician for 10+ years. I did like the consistency of the product, however, the coverage was not adequate for those looking to go foundation free with just a tinted SPF in my opinion.

Skin reacted very poorly
First, this review is based on my very individual experience, but if you also have super sensitive skin, take it with a grain of salt. The formula feels great and absorbs well. I want to love it, however, my skin does NOT. I have sensitive skin and rosacea and bought this on recommendation of my dermatologist. I used this while on vacation for 4 days, and by the last day I noticed my face was redder and more sensitive feeling than usual. I also had a very angry, scaly spot on my neck. It wrecked my barrier. I also want to note I was using EltaMD sport sunscreen for my body and experienced a similar reaction. Very itchy and lots of bumps on my arms, shoulders, and thighs. As a sunblock, full marks. 0 burning for my very fair-skinned self in Dominican Republic. I'm going back to a different brand, my tried and true.

Tinted facial moisturizer
Usually use untinted, purchased the tinted to help smooth skin appearance. The color absolutely comes off on everything, and runs with the slightest perspiration. Trying to use it up at times when this doesn’t matter since it is so expensive.

Very irritating to sensitive skin
I was so excited to try this formula for everyday use. Sadly, it really irritated my skin. I didn't turn red like some reported but I noticed that when applying my nighttime serums, everything burned like my face was on fire!!! In addition, I developed a few painful acne spots... unusual for me at age 59. At first I couldn't figure out what was going on but quickly realized that this was the only change in my daily routine. Once I stopped using it, the burning subsided and the acne slowly went away. It's a shame because I really liked the texture and how light it was under the small amount of makeup I use from time to time.

OUCH!
If you have sensitive skin, I'd avoid this one. It gave me a chemical burn of sorts all over my face. The first day, I felt a slight burning sensation after I applied it, but it went away, so I left it on. That night when I washed it off (after just an easy day indoors), my face was fire engine red! I thought it was a fluke & tried it a few days later, and it hurt me worse. This is the only thing I've changed in my skincare routine and I haven't been out in the sun. I only tried this because they changed the formula on my beloved Elements SPF 44 (now an AOX disaster). I hope I can return this or I'm SOL. EltaMD has disappointed me with their recent changes - bout to find a new brand.

Eczema flared up
I was really excited to try this after reading hundreds of reviews and seeing so much about the Elta MD sunscreens being good for sensitive skin, post, procedure, etc. Was not expecting this to cause eczema on my neck and in front of my ears and around my eyes. I have the Shiniest, greasiest skin you’ll ever see, and this stuff dried me out To the point where my skin felt so tight, I couldn’t stand it and had to put moisturizer on top of it. The burning, stinging and itching on my neck and around my ears and eyes are beyond Painful and more ways than one. My skin looks absolutely disgusting in those areas and now I have to restore the skin barrier everywhere this damaged it. This is not what I was expecting from Elta MD sunscreens. The search continues for a tinted mineral sunscreen that won’t irritate my eyes or cause eczema or acne…

Doesn't work! Bring Back EltaMD UV Shield Broad-Spectrum SPF 45 Oil-Free - 7 oz Airless Pump
I bought this to replace the SPF 45 when it was discontinued. I had used the SPF 45 for years and it worked very well. This sunscreen doesn't work. I used it the same as I use to use the SPF 45 on my chest and arms daily. I got the worse sunburn/sun rash on my skin from using this that I had to go out and buy a different brand. Don't risk using it.

great moisturizer
This moisturizer is thick and great for in the winter mths when my skin is more dry. It provides excellent sun protection in additional to being a moisturizer and it is not greasy like some sunscreens.

Not for me!
I purchased this item after extensive research and it is not something for me. After a few days my skin started peeling AND I broke out. I bought it because it was supposed to help with the breakouts but it didn't help in that area. And I was disappointed because it also made my skin peel.

Orange tinted, irritating and drying
I wanted to love this sunscreen due to all the glowing endorsements for EltaMD. I bought this as a more hydrating alternative to the UV Clear, which dried me out horribly. It applies nicely and has a nice texture. However, it is very, very orange on my fair, warm-toned skin. Unfortunately, it also resulted in a red rash and irritated, dry, flaking skin. I tried to give it a fair chance, but things did not improve. Unfortunately, the return window has passed so now I’m stuck with an expensive product that makes me look like an oompaloompa and absolutely trashes my skin.

It’s white.
I really don’t like this stuff. I’ve read so many good things about it but maybe the positive reviews were for the clear version and I didn’t pay enough attention? Anyway, it goes on white. It leaves a white cast. It might be workable if you put foundation over it. I’ve been wearing it alone and I don’t like it. Also, it seems like it’s making me break out but I can’t be certain the product change is to blame.

Literally Felt Like My Skin Was On Fire
I wouldn't recommend this stuff for anyone's skin. I broke out into a rash all around my eyebrows and my entire skin felt itchy and overall just gross. I felt like the skin around my eyebrows was on fire. What the ???!!??!
