Was ok, but not my favorite
I typically use the EltaMD clear but tried this one out. It's ok for winter but I will stick with the clear. THis was much thicker and didn't blend as well as the clear.

This is the third time I’ve purchased this product. It’s pretty sheer so I will usually mix it with a foundation for better coverage. This is not a matte tinted sunscreen so you will be left with a dewy finish. I will continue to spend the money for this daily wear sunscreen because of EltaMDs reputation for supreme skincare.

Almost perfect
I've been using Eltamd daily uv sunscreen for years and want to use 100% mineral sunscreen. The texture of this sunscreen is perfect, not oily at all and hydrating for my dry spots. The only reason why I knocked one star off is for the tint. I find it's slightly too dark for my fair skin tone and a little hard to blend in around my hair line. I think I will get the untinted version from now on.

Love this product but not the tint!
This product went on smoothly with a light smooth feeling going on and looked beautiful all day! The color was a little orange for me. If this was made in tinted or a lighter tint I would use it in a second!

Best so far for me
I have sensitive skin with rosacea, and have tried every kind of physical sunscreen. They make my face ache and dry out. This one has been the best for me. The tint is nice, it goes on smoothly, and moisturizes. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars, is because after having it on a few hours, my skin starts to hurt. But maybe that's just my skin.

I love EltaMD products. Have used the clear 46 sunscreen for years after it was recommended by my dermotologist. I also use several of their other products. I’ve been using this product for a little over a month. I like that it goes on clear and doesn’t feel overly heavy. It’s hard to judge at this point if it is restoring some of the sun damage I have.

Chalky smooth
I received a sample packet of the EltaMD UV Restore SPF 40 and the product was very smoothing and moisturizing with a slightly dewy finish. It made my skin look fantastic so after three uses, I bought the full size. The full size product leaves a drier, whiter, chalky finish that is not as pleasing to my sensitive, dry skin. If the SPF were higher, I would likely buy it again, but since it is not, I will go back to the La Roche-Posay mineral SPF 50.

Quality face sunscreen!
My esthetician recommended this sunscreen because my skin is super sensitive, reactive, and severely dry. I’ve been using for several weeks now and I love it! Not drying like others I’ve tried, pretty lightweight for a physical sunscreen, and works great under makeup. Wish I could rate it 4.5, docking a half star because it does have a slight white cast which is really only noticeable if I’m not wearing makeup and if it’s super hot out (for skin tone reference, I’m half Japanese and half white. My skin is fair with an olive/warm undertone). Spent a couple hours in 95 degree weather last weekend and it didn’t stand up great, but still worth the wear to protect my skin. Not sure it’s possible to have an absolutely perfect physical sunscreen, but this seems to be the closest thing. Overall I love it and will keep purchasing!

I chose this sunscreen after reading all the reviews from Elta. I wanted a mineral sunscreen which gives me a good protection from the sun, I only have been using it for a couple of times but so far I have no brake outs and does not make my skin oily. If you apply a good amount it does leave little white spots but it disappears after time and it’s not noticeable. I like it and I would recommend the sunscreen.

Really love the texture and tint of this sunscreen. I did find it was a bit drying after wearing it all day. I usually have this issue with mineral sunscreens. However, this one didn’t seem to dry me out as much as other mineral sunscreens I’ve tried.

(40 years old, fair skin, dog walker- in the southern Ca sun all day). I’ve been using the EltaMD UV Clear for years...that stuff is perfect. I use it on my face, neck, chest and shoulders. Tried this new sunscreen because it includes some other anti-aging components. It works great, but in comparison- it goes on with that white sunscreen sheen and is a little more thick to spread on than the UV Clear (that’s why I docked a star). If you can get past that, it’s a great sunscreen! Doesn’t cause me to break out. As far as the additional anti-aging stuff... who knows right?...kind of just have to trust them.

I love the feel of Elta MD UV Restore on my face, maybe a little too dewy but it’s bearable. The only bad thing is that it leaves too much of a white cast. I combined it with a tinted sunscreen and it really blends well. I think next time I will just get the tinted one.

Lightweight
Most of EltaMD sunscreens feel heavy or kind of chalky. This product is lightweight and spreads easy. I wish it was a wee bit more matte. I don't think pale or fair skin tones can wear this due to the tint. I have dry, sensitive, and mild rosacea skin. I have a neutral medium skin tone and this tint works very well for me. I really do like this formulation. Well played EltaMD.
