I use the Elta MD Mineral sunscreen on my face and I love it. I purchased the UV Restore for my husband who does have sun damage on his face - he needs more than a tinted sunscreen - tho the Regular Elta MD tinted worked pretty well - However, whatever is in the "Restore" is even better - looks natural and gives better coverage. Love this product!!!

A switch that does work
I have been using ELTA MD sunscreen (ELTA MD UV Clear SPF 40) for years with no real issues. But I have been told by my dermatologist that the ELTA MD UV Restore with Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide is the safest and most effective. As the UV Clear is made with Zinc Oxide and Octinoxate, and I saw that the ELTA MD UV Restore Broad Spectrum SPF 40 is made with Zinc Oxide (higher levels) and Titanium Dioxide (a safer ingredient), I decided to switch types. There is a difference, but the UV Restore is slightly heavier, and leaves a whitish tinge that does dissipate quickly, though I think it is more noticeable. However, I feel better protected and that I am not exposing my skin to a possible chemical that may not be “user friendly.” I have also noticed that UV Restore helps to diminish the appearance of SOME dark, aging spots. Overall, I am pleased with the switch. And can recommend.
