Great protection and Coverage

Tried the tinted Restore after using tinted Daily for a few years. The coverage and spf protection is excellent! Unfortunately in the dry mountain climate, it does not give as much moisturization as the Daily formula.

Left a white film

I normally order Elta MD 46 and this anti aging 40 was ordered in error. The 40 is a slightly heavier formula which adds more moisture but it did leave a white visible caste on my face. I recommend the tinted to avoid the whitish appearance. I have gone back to order the MD 46.

Good but…

Effective and one pump is ample to cover my whole face but it leaves my face quite shiny.

Nice sunscreen , staying power questionable

I love the texture and feel of this sunscreen. I did find a was a bit oily by the afternoon. Sometimes my skincare doesn’t interact well with sunscreens and I will get pilling, slippage and settling into creases over time. Overall I really like it and will probably use it mainly on my neck and chest.

Tint is too orangey

I love everything about this new formulation, great coverage, not heavy or greasy a nice light feel on my face & neck. However, the tint is too orangey, I gifted it to my daughter so looking for another Elta formula to use.

Great product

I loved how it felt on my skin, but it was a shade too dark for me, so I went back to the Elements. I wish they were all consistent for shades.

Did Not Blend Enough

Very smooth application, no scent, but left a white cast. Not a wild amount, but enough I just couldn’t quite make it work.

Great texture - white cast

Love the texture of this sunscreen! Goes on smoothly and is moisturizing. My only complaint is that it has a slight white cast, which is hard to rub away.

Like

I liked this one but I liked the UV Clear one better because of the thinner texture. I enjoyed using this one though and I do recommend.

Go-to sunscreen

Basic everyday sunscreen for face that does not leave a white cast.

Better than others

It doesn't leave as much of a white cast as other mineral sunscreens. I'm grateful for the non carcinogenic ingredients. I wish it were easier to spread, but that is the sacrifice when choosing a mineral sunscren.

Great Everyday Tinted Sunscreen!

I was looking for an affordable tinted sunscreen that wouldn’t aggravate my mild type 1/2 rosacea all while not settling into fine lines and wrinkles. Elta MD Restore is hydrating and provides light-medium coverage for my light complexion. I took 1 star off because I wish it had a higher spf.

Clean ingredients BUT expect a white cast residue

You have a rub it off in order to get the white cast residue off, then you wonder if you still have any sunscreen on. Not my favorite.

Worth trying

This is my first time trying the product. I'm a long term user of Elta MD sunscreens, especially their clear formula, SPF 46. Since the pandemic I'm finding the shine it gives me a little too noticeable when I'm wearing a mask. To tone down the shine I have to use power, which is drying to my already dry skin. Here's where UV Restore comes in. Pro's: it's hydrating without being greasy and opaque enough to settle well and make me feel covered. It also has a lovely texture and goes on smoothly. A tip recently learned: pat on your sunscreen vs rubbing it in. The difference is notable. Cons: SPF isn't high enough for my needs and the opacity washes me out enough that I have to use blush or a bronzer to balance things if I'm going out or on video. Overall it's a great product. I may order again but likely continue exploring or types and brands first.

Close to great

It’s hard to write this review because I have such mixed feelings! The biggest issue is that the tint is just a bit dark for my light skin. It’s not overly noticeable if I spend time spreading well, and as of now, I haven’t noticed much oxidation over the course of the day, however I’m not confident enough to wear this somewhere where I want to be sure to look good/natural. It is a little thick, but it feels nice. Takes a while to dry down to a lightly glossy finish. Like, not love for now, but will keep working with it. It is remarkable that it’s a mineral only sunscreen.

Good protection and pleasant feel

I like the EltaMD brand with its use of mineral sunscreens. I changed to this product since it was touted as being focused on aging skin and my other seemed a bit drying. It is definitely better and I am generally satisfied. I would like it to be even more moisturizing, but being 10 years younger would help as well.

A nice SPF

This sunscreen is light and also moisturizing. Goes on smooth and is overall pleasant to use. Goes well over or under foundation

Perfectly tinted SPF

This is light on the skin with a nice tint so you can go makeup free in the sun. The scent is ok, but not terrible.

Love the texture, but wish there was less of a tint

Purchased after I tried a sample. I like the consistency of the product and that it is tinted, but I wish it was slightly lighter for my skin tone. I think in the summer when I have more of a tan it’ll match perfectly, but during the winter months, it’s a little bit too dark.

Glad to change!

I’ve been using Colorescience sunscreens for the past year, but I received a sample gift from this brand & I really liked it: texture, tint, hydration & complexion-wise, so a month later I bought the full size! However, as I live in extremely hot conditions that require SPF 50- 60, I will use this sunscreen only between December & April!
