White cast
I’ve been wearing sunscreen on my face religiously since I was 13 years old and turn 40 this year, I know my sunscreen. I wanted to give this a try as a physical sunscreen option to my usual chemical sunscreen. It was advertised as transparent. Gave it a try and was disappointed. You can see my coloring in my photo, this left a sight white/blue cast on my face. I always use two coats of sunscreen about a nickel sized amount each time and it was just too much with this. It left a slight purple/blue cast that I could easily cover up with foundation but since I don’t wear foundation, this would add an extra step that I wouldn’t normally have to. It also has a smell that I have found most physical sunscreens have which is an orange or lemon peel smell that lingers. I can’t stand it. Outside of the issues I have with this sunscreen, I did find it thin but moisturizing, nice texture, and easily spreadable. I have kept it since I don’t want to go through the hassle of returning this so I’ll use it on the tops of my feet when I go out.

Another winner from EltaMD. I've had hit and miss luck with ELtaMD's sunscreens - some stay greasy on me, but not this one! It's lightly moisturizing on my dry skin and a minute or so after applying, it's soaked in to the skin. It's a lovely base for makeup and it stands alone well too. I really like this one - if you've found some of the other EltaMD formulations too greasy or they don't sink into your skin, try this one. It's a great sunscreen!

My favorite sunscreen
I’ve tried all the sunscreens. Literally, so many. This one is my number 1 favorite. Excellent protection, lightweight, moisturizing, not oily at all, no funky scent, no weird white film left over on your skin. I wear it daily, but also hiking and it holds up great when I’m sweating! I’ve recommended to several friends and they all love it! Can’t go wrong

Dependably effective
I recently had Mohs surgery for skin cancer on my face. I’m paying the price for many years of sun worshipping. It was imperative that I use great sun protection for the area that the doc grafted on new skin. If you don’t the area becomes grey and unable to lighten even with a laser. So I chose a sunscreen brand I knew I could friend on. The SPF 50 blended in right away and I was confident I was protected.

Might be my new go-to SPF for face!
I have tried many of the EltaMD SPF products, but this may be my new favorite for my face! I like how it is water resistant, which is why I purchased it for the beach. However, it is light and non-greasy, so I may use it for everyday use! It goes on smooth like the UV clear, but is a thinner consistency. I stopped using the UV clear because I have combination skin and it was too drying for me after a while. It is such a glowy SPF, but does dry down to a natural finish, so you can wear it under makeup well.

Great Sun Protection
This EltaMd UV Scheer Broad Spectrum-Suncreen SPF-50 does protect you from the sun but I do feel it whitens your face up a tiny bit. I store the tube flat otherwise there is too much in the cap. I also shake the tube before applying. Four stars for the tiny bit of whitening on the skin or opaque. It is about the same as my favorite UV Clear SPF-46 Untinted. I feel the Clear gives more moisture. I will use the SPF-50 until empty. My favorite remains Clear SPF-46 Tinted.

My derm and esthetician always have Elta MD sunscreen in their offices and its the last thing they always put on my face before I leave. This no-nonsense sunscreen is apparently the gold standard for them. I only know that it works very well protecting my face and neck from damaging UV and that it doesn't clog my pores so ... yes.
