the perfect cleansing balm
I've tried nearly every balm on the market and this is by far the best. it doesn't leave a greasy residue, it takes everything off without burning your eyes and it makes your skin feel hydrated and smooth after using. unlike other peoples reviews, I don't mind the clove smell one bit. cloves are very medicinal and not everything has to smell like a perfume factory. I appreciate that they didn't try to cover up the natural smell of the herbs and oils used in the product. this is the OG!

I have used this cleanser for years. It comes out of the jar like a thick cream. If the weather is cold it will seem to have little exfoliation bits, but those are actually oil that will dissolve as you spread it on your skin. Then with a little water added, it emulsifies into a creamy cleanser. It seems to have done exfoliation properties, because I had some bumps that my esthetician couldn’t remove, but they went away with this cleanser. Also doesn’t strip your skin if moisture. It’s expensive, but you only need to use about a large pea size amount for your entire face.

Works well, good texture
I love cleansing balms and have tried several. This is so popular out in the world, and it seems like very good quality botanical ingredients. I rated 4 stars not five due to smell and small size for the cost. It is very concentrated, and a tiny amount goes a long way so maybe the cost is in line with that. The smell is hard to place, but at first, before massaging it in and emulsifying with water, it has a strong basil scent, almost food like plant smell. Later as you rub it in and emulsify it smells more standard botanical. It does work nicely, and I see why people love it. It is nice that it comes with detailed directions on how to massage your face while using it, as well as the muslin cloth.
