I have aging combo skin with Rosacea that occasionally breaks out. It reacts to nearly everything. After a rosacea flare, I went on the hunt for something soothing. This is so great after my prescription tretinoin treatment. Each night I use this underneath of it and it keeps my skin from getting too dry or irritated. Also great after any type of chemical exfoliation products. Love the texture super lightweight yet ultra hydrating and would work under makeup although I particularly like to use it at night. A month ago, I had a terrible allergic reaction to a fruit acid solution, and my skin was in a bad shape. Red, flaky, insanely sensitive to the touch, dry, you name it. It gave me the opportunity to find out that there are many "calming" products on the market and after trying a dozen of them, I can attest that this serum is in a different league from the rest. A review reported a sticky texture, I always apply my serum on top of an essence on wet skin, so it does not feel sticky at all. It penetrates immediately and soothes the skin just as fast. The texture is substantial. I actually feel that it acts as a barrier on my skin. I am in my early 50s with otherwise really good skin. This serum is now a part of my routine, and I will always keep it around.

This is a thick, opaque gel serum. It leaves a sticky finish on your face, but does not leave you looking greasy. It does not feel drying, nor does it feel hydrating. It did not feel particularly soothing. The peptides are a plus, but the added silicone may be bad for oily skin. It has a slight alcohol scent, probably a masking agent.
