I wish I'd tried this sooner!
I worked with horses in my younger days (so outdoors in all kinds of weather) and was often "forgetful" about sunscreen. I look forward to continued improvement, but even if it's not as impressive, I'm still so happy to have found Effaclar gel :-)

It is a little to harsh for my skin, it made my skin more sensitive in the beginning. Even using my daily makeup remover wipes felt like sandpaper on my skin after using this product. I also needed a considerable amount of moisturizer to keep hydrated. I stopped using it altogether after 10 weeks since I was beginning to get acne breakouts.

Good retinol alternative
My skin is sensitive to retinol and I prefer adapalene gel. I use it every night after cleansing and toning and have not had any problems with excessive dryness. It cleared up my adult acne after using it for two to three months, so I will keep it in my regular skin care regimen. A tube lasts a long time since you only need to apply a thin layer to skin. Effaclar products have really worked for me!

Great for hormonal acne
Staple product for me. My sensitive skin can tolerate this - yay! Really helps with hormonal acne and pushing skin turnover (aka anti-aging benefits too). There is research (search pubmed) that adapalene is as effective as tretinion for anti-aging benefits and it's also a more stable compound which is why it's less irritating!

This definitely takes time, it won’t work wonders in a couple nights or even a couple weeks, it takes months from my experience since you need to start off slow. But after that, it really makes a difference in your skin. My complexion is so much more even and the breakouts have lessened so much. It isn’t a cure all for me, because I think I’ll always have occasional hormonal breakouts, but it helps so much in terms of amount and even how fast they go away.
