Finally a retinoid product I can use
I love this retinoid product. I have never been able to use other retinoid brands. But I finally found one that my skin tolerates well and improves my skin! Increases cell turnover, less sebaceous filament, and softens my skin.

I changed to this coming from a 1% retinol cream and I still got flaking/peeling for the first few days using this. I didn’t expect it to be much stronger but it was a pleasant surprise. Only negative is that if you use too much it can start to pill and rub off.

Alternative to retinol for anti-aging
I have been using this Effaclar gel for a month for anti-aging. It's too soon to say whether it has reduced fine lines and wrinkles, but I like using the product and will continue with it. I started slowly: twice a week at night, followed by moisturizer. Now I am using it every other night, still following with moisturizer. I have experienced some very slight peeling, but I feel that's a sign that my skin is being renewed and that the product is actually doing something. Good price and good customer service from LovelySkin, as usual!

Adapalene 0.1%
I was looking for an alternative to retinol and researched adapalene. My skin reacts terribly to retinol, but this is different! I can actually use adapalene without the extreme sensitivity, redness, and peeling I have with retinol. Whenever I feel the beginnings of a pimple, I use this gel and it disappears almost overnight.

LRP adapalene gel
This stuff is awesome! I have tried LOTS of acne treatments and LOTS of retinol type treatments. I have skin that is oily, acne prone and tends to be pretty sensitive. I have started using this at night M,W,F and have noticed my cystic type acne is no longer red and inflamed and all my white heads are disappearing. I wouldn’t say that I have severe acne but I have persistent hormonal acne and sometimes it takes a long time to clear up and then once it does I have another one pop up. This stuff made a difference almost immediately and with no irritation. I really like it! It’s affordable and works well for me. Definitely recommend trying it!

My dermatologist suggested this to me as an option to Retin A. It’s much less expensive. Although it's too early to see results, I have no flaking and I love its smooth creamy texture as I apply it. I definitely will keep using it as my retinoid.
