I’ve used 3 bottles and saw no improvement with stubborn post inflammation hyperpigmentation from hormonal acne. I had much better success with SkinCeuticals Phloretin followed by the Phyto gel. 2 stars as Discoloration Defense never added to any existing breakouts (thankfully).

So far, great
I have been using many Skinceuticals products for years. Recently added this serum to the lineup. After just 2 weeks I noticed dark spots getting lighter. They are not completely gone, but they seem to be diminishing. Very excited about the results and will be happy to update in a few months.

Very optimistic!
I originally received a small sample & based on those results, I treated myself to a full size bottle. I've been using it on some very persistent age spots on my face which my dermatologist said needed laser treatment to diminish. This product, however, seems to be fading the looks of these spots. I'm optimistic that continuing use will help avoid the need for laser intervention. It's very pricy though.

It’s hard to tell if this product works. I get bad melasma during pregnancy. And used this and it improved my skin. But got pregnant again and the melasma came back angrier and still use this. And isn’t improving well. So who knows?

I used the Discoloration Defense for years, and then decided to stop using it for almost a year. I came back to using it because I noticed more brown spots appearing when I wasn't using it. I have really noticed a difference in my skin. It seems to have stopped the brown spots from showing up, or at minimum slowed them way down. I believe in this as part of my daily regime.

This is by far one of my favorites! It takes a couple months to see results but it does a very good job with discoloration. I have hormonal acne and most of my redness/scars are on my chin and the spots have reduced a great deal. I've been using it regularly morning and night. Will buy again!

The one I keep going back to
I’ve used this on and off for a few years now. I’m not sure why I keep trying other formulas, nothing else ever works nearly as well. I have a lot of sun damage and acne scarring, and this seems to be the only thing that helps lighten up those dark spots. Every time I try something else and then come back to this one I notice a big difference within just a few weeks. For this reason I do believe you have to keep using it to retain the benefits, but if you’re ok with that I highly recommend.
