Not sure of effectiveness

I purchased this is use due to a reaction from retinol. I can't say it has really helped all that much. It feels nice like a moisturizer when first applied, but it does not seem to keep the areas moisturized after a couple of hours, so I have reapplied it once or twice throughout the day. I have continued to use it in hopes it's just taking a little time to clear up the dry/red areas.
