BEST RETINOL Cream By Far!
I have used this retinol cream for years now--I used to use the stronger dose but started using it less due to sporadic peeling which could be a nuisance and untimely. The lesser concentration is not enough for me as I am now nearly 50. I use this retinol cream every two to three days to maintain tight skin and help smooth skin, reduce discoloration and pigmentation. (On evening 2 or 3, depending on tightness, I do a mild peel to remove lightly peeling skin and prepare for the next retinol use.) I have always had hyperpigmentation, past acne scars and larger pores on my forehead, nose, around mouth, and on chin. This gradually removes extra layers of skin holding those discoloration and blemishes, and moreover reveals fresh, younger, tighter skin with smaller pores and better clarity. It is also a challenge to find non comedogenic aging products but this is perfect for my aging, but skin that occasionally breaks out. I also just started recently use twice weekly on my hands and neck and chest to reduce freckles, lines and other signs of aging--what a difference in only a month--my hands don't resemble my mom's any longer! I highly recommend this anti-aging, skin tightening cream to anyone!

The best!
I just started using the 0.5 after starting with the 0.3 a year ago. Let me tell you - I noticed a difference in just DAYS. A stubborn zit between my eyebrows shrunk instantly. My forehead lines faded markedly! And because I used the 0.3, my skin is tolerating it beautifully - no redness, no peeling. I have rosacea and use this product with no adverse effects. I recommend starting with 0.3 then working your way up to 0.5 to help your skin adapt. I love this!

Take It Slow
It took me a while to get through the tube of Retinol 0.3. And I can see the adjustment to this new product is also going to take a bit. Right now I am using it every 5 days or so. My skin is sensitive....once a week I take a spin class in the evening. Washing my face after work, taking the class (lots of sweating) and washing my face again with a gentle cleanser....I tried to use this product....not so good. I believe it was due to that whole process. For reference, I am almost 60yo and have been using this line for a couple of years. I often get compliments on my skin.

I am working my way up to SkinCeuticals Retino 1.0 and have been happy so far with the results from the 0.3 and now 0.5. My skin looks a lot smoother and dare I say - younger! I started on this regime after seeing my best friend's results - also pretty amazing. I am 40 and I do not have a ton of wrinkles / lines but the ones that had formed have significantly lessened in appearance - as was my friend's case. I am very careful about putting on sunscreen as I am more sensitive as a result of this cream (and others I use). I highly recommend this brand and this specific cream!

Great step towards increasing retinol
I like that the Skinceuticals Retinol line has explicitly defined the strength of retinol. It helped me be able to move from 0.3 strength to the 0.5 and then again over to the 1.0 with ease. Oh and study. It was just nice to know that I can transition from one to the next, without any question of strength.

That being said, definitely use with caution at the beginning because even after using other retinols, my skin was quite reactive at first to this and definitely had some red patches.
