Evens out tone
I keep coming back to this product. I didn’t notice a huge difference in getting rid of dark sunspots but whenever I stop using it, I notice that my skin tone becomes a little more patchy in color (some darker areas on my medium tone Asian skin). So even though it is pricey, I keep going back to using Lytera 2.0 and it evens my skin back out again and keeps it that way. It’s a subtle difference but one that I do notice.

With any topical pigment cream, results are going to take a while and they’re going to be relatively subtle. If you’re looking to really get rid of pigment, you’re going to need to combine a serum like this one with peels, laser, retinol, sunscreen, and glycolic acid, not all at the same time, of course. If you view this product as one line of defense along with those I mentioned, it works and it helps. If you’re using this on its own, you might be frustrated by the results. I used 2 bottles of this and didn’t really see much difference.

I am of Indian origin and have light brown (caramel) skin tone. I had very dark hyperpigmentation on my upper lips (that looked like a 5 o'clock shadow), around the mouth, and chin. My dermatologist recommended me this product. I use this product every night and continue to use it as I write this review. After using it for three weeks, the hyperpigmentation visibly faded. Every night, first I apply SkinCeuticals Discoloration Defense, then the Lytera Serum, and lastly, Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Acid. Sometimes I switch the discoloration defense with Ordinary's lactic acid. The combination of these three products worked for me the best. Also, every morning, whether I am working from home or at the office, I apply broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen for optimum results.
