It has photolyase (DNA repair phytosomes from plankton) which repairs immediate sun damage to the skin and old damage as well. After growing up in summer sun in Texas before sunscreen and also having 9/11 exposure which raises the risk, I'm using it to try to prevent further trouble with BCCs. It dries matte with a little whitening but not much, has slight smell but better than most 'unscented' sunscreens. I highly recommend it as does my dermatologist.
