Too Dark
I also wanted to love the Avene High Protection tinted compact but find the color way too dark. As an older woman I definitely don't want to wear a "tan" color on my face. The product itself was fine and I liked the high SPF as I suffer from melasma. I was hoping to apply this throughout the day for additional SPF coverage as needed. Until Avene makes this product in more than two colors, I don't recommend it very highly.

Great for water activities
I really like this for summer pool time, beach time and vacations where there might be swimming, water sports, spa time, hiking near waterfalls etc. To me it has pretty full coverage … I have melasma and it gives excellent coverage - don’t need to wear concealer or foundation. This goes on kind of thick texture but is resistant to water when I’m in the pool. Haven’t tried it with any serious swimming like laps or scuba so can’t comment on how well it will stay but hanging out with friends in the pool it’s great.

I am out doors a lot and this foundation provides total coverage. I live in Texas and this summer was a hot one. When I used this product it did not melt and it did not run into my eyes and I felt my skin was protected. It is easy to apply .I play a lot of golf, and before I leave the house I use a lot of layers of sunscreen and I apply this product for the final layer with a brush instead of the pad. I think this is a winner and I bring it with me all the tine...just in case. it's easy to pat some on your nose or cheeks and you're all done and your face is protected. Great product.

It is nice to have sunscreen in this compact. However, as a makeup product, I am not impressed. It shows dry patches easily, thick with ok coverage, OK staining powder, very limited shade choices. In comparison, there are way better options from Asian companies, like those from Japan, South Korea, China, or even Thailand that you can find online.

My new favorite, cannot live without, 2 in 1 product
I love everything about this product. I was looking for a tinted sunscreen, but this is so much more. It covers like a medium coverage foundation. The color in the pan looked like it would be a little too dark for my skin tone, but it somehow changes to match my skin color. I purchased this to replace my tinted sunscreen, but this has quickly replaced my foundation too. In fact, I don't even use foundation anymore unless I'm going out at night. I can't live without it; I always have an extra for backup and find myself hoarding it when there's a sale. It's hydrating and a little shiny/dewy so I pat a little finishing powder over it. I often get compliments on my skin when I wear it.
