I love all Avene products, especially for my sensitive skin. However, my skin REALLY drinks up this RetrinAL 0.1! My skin is glowing and my acne non-existent if I keep up with using this product. I won’t use any other Retinol.

I started using Avene RetrinAL 0.5 & then moved up to 0.1. I like this product because it has a creamy texture & doesn’t dry out my mature skin as much as other products. At this stage in my life, this is ideal for my skin; I want the benefits of RetrinAL without being overly dry.

Favorite retinaldehyde!
I love this product for its effectiveness on more sensitive areas like my neck and under eyes but without redness, irritation or flaking/peeling that tretinoin can cause. Another main reason I choose this over similar products is because it does not contain dimethicone. I prefer products that absorb into my skin without leaving that silicone layer on top. I know some prefer the feel of dimethicone, and that is the big difference here for me. Hope this helps!

She explained that as a retinoid, Retinaldehyde is stronger than Retinol but not as strong as prescription Retin-A (Tretinoin). Retinol for Sensitive Skin
After using a bottle of the RetrinAL .05, I decided to give the stronger formula a try. I was a bit nervous as I have rosacea prone skin and I know that can aggravate it. Although I have used Rx strength formulas years ago, my skin is now "mature" and has become more sensitive. So far, so good, although I am taking it slow, using it twice weekly. Fingers crossed, I'll start seeing some good results! I am very pleased with Avene products!
