This foundation leaves the skin luminous and natural. Other foundations Ive used are Alima W3 and MAC face and body C2. These are all good matches for my coloring. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. I use this over my tinted sunscreen.

Ive been using Bare Minerals origins foundation for 2 years. I love the coverage and how light it feels on my skin..I wear the fairly light shade in winter and switch to medium beige if I have more color.Bare Minerals has many shades to choose from so Im sure most women could find a match. You can apply the powder lightly for minimal coverage or layer it to cover fully. The finish is soft and silky. I used Bareminerals for the longest time, currently using BB creams for a more natural look. Bareminerals does give a more natural look, compared to other powders or liquid foundation. I have oily/combo skin, shine did come through within two or three hours. After blotting with papers (and then trying not using blotting papers), trying to reapply, makeup just looks kind of cakey. It does give amazing coverage, it is buildable. Matched my fair skin better than any other makeup. This seems to work a lot better for normal skin types though. As far as powders go, this is the only one Id use.

With the lure of natural ingredients that would be gentle on sensitive skin, I decided to give BareMinerals try. After a few weeks of using the BareMinerals foundation, blush, and eyeshadow I starting developing a severe allergic reaction - unbearably red, puffy, itchy skin around my eyes and cheeks. Ive experienced irritation from other cosmetics, but never to this extent. After researching possible causes for such a severe allergic reaction, I discovered the crystalline structure of bismuth oxychloride - one of BareMinerals main ingredients - has edges that can “poke” the skin. It took days for the swelling and itching to fully subside.

I know others that love this product. The powder was too dry and looked like it had sparkles in it when applied to skin. I have great skin and want to use as extra protection over other skin care, especially sun block. I was unable to get a natural look, even with buffing with a facial tissue. The pores and hair on my face stood out. Yes, I did wait for the other products to dry and set before I used the product. My skin is light. The Light was too yellow so I used the fairly light. I have found another product that I now use and does meet my needs. I am glad that this product works so well for so many of the ladies. Believe me, I wanted to be one of them.
