I've been searching for an affordable, heavy duty moisturizer for winter for my acne prone/also dry skin. This one is great when used daily. Doesn't feel heavy, no residue.

Good not great
This is hydrating some occlusives like a butter or oils would make it great. I am aware that there are other moisturizers in this line that may offer what I seek but I still like the light but hydrating feel of this. I may try the other kinds Bioelements offers. Very good for normal skin but dry skin like mine it’s good but not quite enough.

Lasting moisture that soaks in
I bought this as my first product from this brand. I was nervous when I opened it and it had a fragrance to it because I use exfoliating products my skin can become sensitized or irritated from them, but it did not bother my skin at all. I was also thrilled with the size of 2.5fl oz rather than the usual 1.7 oz of most lotions. It has emollient factors which actually heal cracks in your skin and I could tell my skin feels healthy and healed. I have used this under makeup and as a night cream with great success and I have reordered! I plan to try another lotion under my makeup for the summer months because I am in Florida and I will just sweat if I have too good of a lotion on - so that is something to note that it is able to be used under makeup but best for a night cream during the summer because of the emollient factors. I have oily, acne prone skin that sometimes can become combination due to chemical exfoliants and acne products.

My go-to moisturizer
I've been using Bioelements Crucial Moisture for years. Ever since I moved to Denver, my skin has felt the drynesss so hard. Flaking nose, hard to blend foundation, on top of already being sensitive and break-out prone. This stuff is my go-to moisturizer for day and night. It doesn't smell and it has a great texture. In essence, I never thought I would use or LOVE using a thicker moisturizer during the daytime! I started off by just using this at night and loved the feel and how I woke up with my skin still feeling moisturized. I started to use this during the day because my lighter moisturizer just wasn't enough. It absorbs quickly, and even though it's a thicker cream, it does not make your skin feel sticky or like it has a strange coating on it. I immediately layer with SPF and have no issues. I try not to touch my face too much anyways, but after a little while your skin will feel like it has completely absorbed, and it is simply velvety. After a few weeks, the best way to describe my skin is HEALED. My skin has not looked this healthy in forever and I have extremely acne-prone skin and a lot of scarring.
