I can't say how well this product works, but my dermatologist recommended it, and my dermatologic surgeon recommended nicotinamide( a major ingredient of Heliocare) after my melanoma surgery. It is backed by authe.tnic, research-based study to lower the risk of skin cancer in patients with a history of cancer.

I have fairly sensitive skin and experienced a bad allergic reaction on my arms and legs after sun exposure, so my dermatologist recommended I purchase HELIOCARE (and also that I use different sunscreen). I have been taking the pills regularly for a couple months and have not had any further issues. Only 4 stars because it seems to work, but I have not used it for an extended period yet.

500 mg Nicotinamide
This is good for convenience in that 500 mg Nicotinamide is combined with Heliocare. However, you take two pills just like you would if you were taking them separately. 500 milligrams twice a day is typically recommended to potentially reduce skin cancer risk. So you would need to take four Advanced pills a day to get 500 mg twice a day (and the equivalent of 2 heliocare pills). For this reason I sometimes use Heliocare Advanced and sometimes I use just Heliocare and add on Nicotinamide as a separate vitamin. You still need to wear SPF! I've used Heliocare for years, I don't notice anything with it but I am hopeful it does provide some supplemental skin protection.

Hard to tell the results yet
I have only used this for about a month. I feel my face is more sensitive and red in the cheeks, so I know it is having some effect. Not sure yet if it will make a difference in the long run.
