Helps protect skin from oxidants
It was recommended by a doctor, externally I don’t see any apparent changes, but since it is an anti oxidant it will help the whole oxidative process of aging. No discomfort in terms of digestion, and probably if I keep taking it I’ll be able to determine if it has helped with some of my skin issues.

Skin Protector
I use the Heliocare to help protect my skin. I play tennis and I’m in the sun a lot. I feel like using broad spectrum sunscreen and heliocare give me the protection I need.

Plant based therapy for skin
Heliocare was recommended to me by a previous dermatologist to prevent actinic keratosis which can lead to skin cancer. It didn’t quite deliver there, so I mentioned to the dermatology PA after he burned several AKs. He suggested just taking niacinamide 500 mg twice instead of once daily. Within a month, I developed melasma on both sides of my face. I confess to being outside a lot hiking and gardening though I use 50 spf. I restarted Heliocare after reading it can help melasma. It is slowly getting better after taking it daily.

Good (I think)
I have melasma, so I use this as an extra layer of protection for my skin, along with my topical SPF. I like. the Heliocare Ultra, it's just too expensive, so I decided to give this one a try. I hope it's helping protect my skin. My one complaint is that is has cornstarch in it. I wish it's ingredient list was more "clean".

Heliocare for polymorphic light eruption
My dermatologist recommended Heliocare as I have a sun “allergy” called polymorphic light eruption (PMLE). Sunlight triggers and tensely itchy rash on my neck if I have not been out in the sun in awhile. It gets better with more exposure — so doesn’t usually affect my face though can. I am hopeful this will help. I am withholding a star until I’ve had some more time to see how well it works.

Might be worth it
With this kind of product, I find it hard to tell if it's "working" or not. I have melasma, so I'm willing to do/use just about anything to protect my skin from UV rays. I used the Heliocare Advanced for awhile, but after awhile it just felt too expensive. I tried a different brand, which has PLE, but it too was pretty expensive. I'm trying out this more basic version of Heliocare, but like I said, with this type of product, it's hard to tell if it's making a difference or not. I wish the ingredients were "cleaner" like the other brand.

HELIOCARE Antioxidant Supplements
I had malasma on my left and right cheek area for years. I noticed that my skin is extremely sensitive to heat even if I am very careful with sun protection inside and outside the house. I know my spots will be darkened if my skin feels warm. I purchased the supplement based on dermatologist recommendation. It’s still early to tell but I feel that my skin has not flared up with the heat sensation when I am outside under the hot sun.

Great service
Product itself is fine. Capsules are on a larger side and I take two daily. Customer service is wonderful. Great website.

Recommended by Dermatologists to prevent skin damage by the sun. Recommended dose is two capsules a day, but I only take one a day. Hopefully it is effective.

Enjoying it, but can't tell if it's making a difference in reducing effects of my sun exposure.

Works in combo with other efforts
This was prescribed by my dermatologist in conjunction with Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense and a prescription. I think the combo works. But honestly can’t pinpoint if this is it. I recommended to my sister in law who just uses Heliocare and sunscreen and she feels it works. Worth a try.

Perioral dermatitis
Perioral dermatitis and even rosacea is seeing a huge increase since the pandemic because of mask wearing, stress and people "experimenting" with acids and exfoliants at home and killing their barrier. If your skin is very sensitive like mine or going through these issues than I would suggest upping your diet! We all know what this means but as a busy mom there are many days my diet sucks. So I take heliocare and other vitamins like glutathione that would work from the inside. This is because I'm not able to handle much topically other than zinc based sunscreen. I wish I could use fancy antioxidant serums but I can't risk it. I've taken heliocare on and off for years. I have a sensitive stomache and suffer from acid reflux but this doesn't hurt my stomach at all. Will you see a visible difference in your skin? I doubt it. But if you suffer from heat rashes, sun allergies etc than yes , it's for people like us.

I used retinol and got dry & red skin
If you have sensitive skin and always get red skin, you should protect your skin from the sun first. Now I know I can’t use retinol. I have nice skin but I just wanna try retinol 1 time because of reviews on YouTube. This makes my face less red when I go outside under sunshine a few hours.

Can’t Hurt, Might Help
My dermatologist recommended this supplement. She said she takes it and that studies show it might reduce skin sensitivity to sun. I’m religious about sunscreen, so I don’t know how much it is helping. But my attitude is “can’t hurt, might help”. So, I continue to use it.

No news is good news, I suppose
I have been taking one of these capsules with a full glass of water every day for just over two months. I haven’t had any bad reactions, no digestive issues, or anything unpleasant happen since taking them. I have no idea if they are helping to keep my skin protected or not because I never go outside without sunscreen, a hat, and all of my skin covered, but I figure that it can’t hurt and I’ll do anything reasonable to protect myself.

Does the trick
I was a little skeptical on this purchase. My dermatologist suggested this. to me due to having different types of Lupus/Autoimmune problems. I am still new with taking it. However having an active “flare” for over 10 months... it has allowed me to be outside with minimal itching/blistering. Also have not experienced any side effects with this product!

Trying for melasma
I like that this is one pill per day. I am seeing some improvement in my existing melasma, but I'm not 100 percent sure it's from this pill, as I use several brightening products. But I have super stubborn melasma and topicals have been of little help, so I think it's probably helping and I'll likely repurchase for at least another month. Additional sun protection can't hurt when you're using exfoliants as I do.
