Lovely product
It has been difficult to find a primer that doesn’t cause break-out in my mature, over 65 yrs old, skin. Even at my age my skin is oily and prone to clogged pores. Smooth Affair Brightening has proved to be a good primer for me. I tried both the Brightening primer and the Illuminating primer. Both applied smoothly and provided a great base for my makeup, but the Brightening was best for me.

Nice but not for oily skin
Looks dewy at first but if prone to oily skin it will make you shiny, especially in humid climate. Still trying to okay with placement. Definitely not an “all over” primer as advertised. Wish I could get my money back.

As with all Jane Iredale products, this is clean and well done. Smell is light and refreshing, and pleasantly spreadable. Only thing is I’ve noticed makeup slippage after maybe 6 or 8 hours, or especially post facial sweating.

I like it but....
First time buying this primer and I was very excited to try it. I have been using it for about three weeks on a daily basis and my face started to breakout. I don't know if it is the Jane Iredale primer or the Pommisst Hydration spray that is causing the breakout. At the moment, I discontinued the primer to see if my face gets better. I do love the texture and I will be crushed if it's the cause of my breakout, especially because it was an expensive investment. We will see!

I feel like all of the Jane Iredale products are of very good quality. There are 3 different versions of this primer. I have very dry skin and have tried both the Illuminating and the Brightening formulations. Of these 2, I prefer the Brightening formula as it seems to he more hydrating. It quenches my dry skin and helps my foundation to go on smoothly.

I can't decide whether I prefer the brightening formula or the illuminating but both feel good on my skin. Both help my foundation to go on more smoothly. The product is expensive but a little goes a long way.

I chose the illuminating one. It does leave my skin with a soft glow, and the makeup seems to stay on better; however I still get shiny. Maybe I need the one for acneic skin. Definitely worth a try I just wish I knew which of the three would work best for me.

I have been using this for a few weeks now. I like it but I wish it was more "blurring" in its smoothing effect. Otherwise, I would recommend it. It stays on and helps with make up staying on.

When I ran out of the regular Smooth Affair I thought I'd give the version for oily skin a try. I can't say I really notice a difference between the two products although I may see the difference during the summer when my skin is really oily. Both are good products. Helps foundation go on smoothly and I'm able to use less foundation when I use the primer.

Very good quality primer. Skin feels silky smooth and was the perfect base for the Jane Iredale mineral powder. Unfortunately, I had a few breakouts after using it. I have tremendously sensitive skin, so I will only use this for special occasions when I wear a full face of makeup.
