Hard to believe how effective this product has been while causing zero irritation! That’s why I bought it and the claims are indeed true. Started seeing noticeable changes in skin after 3-5 uses. Been using for 3 weeks. Fantastic results! Smoothness, texture, fine lines, hydration improved. Looking forward to seeing long-term results after actual skin cell turnover periods. Retinol by skin medica is effective.
I use the retinol 0.5 every other evening. I'm 73 and find my skin does not tolerate nightly application as well as I age. I do combine retinol with a little night cream from a different brand. After well absorbed I apply a moisturizer. I feel my skin is healthy and well maintained.

Skin Medica has the best face products. I use this retinol in combination with the tns recovery complex and the dermal repair cream. I have been using this line of products for over 15 years. I started using Skinmedica Retinol 1.0, and found that was just too strong for my skin. I had thought because I used Differin gel for years I could start on a greater concentration. Big mistake. So I purchased the 0.5 concentration which is much better suited to my skin. I definitely feel as though I am getting the benefits of retinol (skin texture, brightness and overall clarity) without the side effects now. I highly recommend Skinmedica Retinol. I would just suggest starting with a lower concentration and working your way up.

Can't live without this product!
I started with the 0.25 concentration and have now moved up to the 0.5 concentration. SkinMedica's Retinol has improved the texture of my skin after intense acne as a teenager. It has also helped to calm down my rosacea that flared after having my second child. I cannot be without this product!

I am really enjoying this product. I did use a .25 retinol prior to this (a different brand) but decided to use this as a next step after my med spa NP recommended it. Honestly, I love the results. I use after I cleanse, use hyaluronic acid, and then moisturize as I have sensitive skin. I let the HA absorb for a few minutes, then put on the moisturizer and let it sit for at least 15-20m before putting a pea size amount of the retinol complex on my face. I have been doing it every other evening and my skin is already looking amazing. I put it on right before bed BTW. I will eventually try it as recommended, on clean skin after cleansing but before any other product, but for now, I am going to continue layering to protect my skin barrier and to decrease any retinol side effects.
