I dont think this actually works
Used it for a whole week before going on a beach day. On that day I also took one and even after applying sunscreen 3 times during the day, I still got a pretty bad sunburn.

My dermatologist recommended this product to help to protect the skin from sunburns. I have a very sensitive skin and it doesn't take long for me to get sunburns. I just started taking Heliocare, so far so good.

Works in combo with other efforts
This was prescribed by my dermatologist in conjunction with Skinceuticals Discoloration Defense and a prescription. I think the combo works. But honestly can’t pinpoint if this is it. I recommended to my sister in law who just uses Heliocare and sunscreen and she feels it works. Worth a try.

Perioral dermatitis
Perioral dermatitis and even rosacea is seeing a huge increase since the pandemic because of mask wearing, stress and people "experimenting" with acids and exfoliants at home and killing their barrier. If your skin is very sensitive like mine or going through these issues than I would suggest upping your diet! We all know what this means but as a busy mom there are many days my diet sucks. So I take heliocare and other vitamins like glutathione that would work from the inside. This is because I'm not able to handle much topically other than zinc based sunscreen. I wish I could use fancy antioxidant serums but I can't risk it. I've taken heliocare on and off for years. I have a sensitive stomache and suffer from acid reflux but this doesn't hurt my stomach at all. Will you see a visible difference in your skin? I doubt it. But if you suffer from heat rashes, sun allergies etc than yes , it's for people like us.

I’ve been using this product for a while because I’ve done alot of research that says it really does help defend against free radicals. Recently I tried a comparable brand and couldn’t believe how much it upset my stomach. Right back to the Heliocare and I’ll stay on them indefinitely!

As it is not possible to fully evaluate the effectiveness of this product after only 3 months of use, I will comment on my understanding of its effectiveness and my experience with the actual purchase and shipping of the product. I did a lot of research on this product and believe it is effective in addressing skin issues. I used retinol and got dry & red skin
If you have sensitive skin and always get red skin, you should protect your skin from the sun first. Now I know I can’t use retinol. I have nice skin but I just wanna try retinol 1 time because of reviews on YouTube. This makes my face less red when I go outside under sunshine a few hours.

I can’t believe that this stuff isn’t in every medicine cabinet in the world. One of the only beauty supplements that’s actually clinically proven, has science to back it up, and is recommended by dermatologists the world over, this is some extra insurance to protect yourself against the sun. You should still wear sunscreen, but this helps you go the extra mile. My dermatologist told me to take one every morning for the rest of my life. How do you argue with that?

This stuff works!
Heliocare works on sun-inflamed skin, no doubt about it. My hubs cycled for a week on RAGBRAI several years ago. After his first week-long ride, he ended up with horrible skin inflammation and skin damage - especially on his lips - even after being diligent with his sunscreen. The next year he used his usual SPF product along with the addition of Heliocare. No skin inflammation when used as directed, and his skin did not become damaged as it did the year before. It was a miracle! He's a redhead with freckles and so are our grown kids. Our entire family now calls Heliocare "The Ginger Pills." I cannot recommend this product enough! We now take it as directed anytime we have sun exposure, even if it's just for a few hours in a day. We are never without a bottle of Heliocare in our skin care kit!
