Melasma Support - SkinMedica Even and Correct
I experienced severe melasma around 36. Now at 44, the melasma is gone and my skin looks better than it did 10 years ago. One component of my melasma journey was a brightening serum. Keep in mind, I don't think any product or serum will give you rapid immediate results. I used this product within an overall routine including in office treatments. I continue to use it because I feel like it supports reduction in pigmentation and discoloration and layers nicely under moisturizer or retinol treatments. Other things I did include: major reduction in sun exposure, hats, SPF every day, microdermabrasion, hydrafacial, retinol, got off hormonal bc, manage stress, minimize exposure to major heat Good luck in your skin care journey!

I haven't been using it long enough to see any major difference. I gave it 5 stars as I think it will start working when I start using it more frequently. It does have a sloughing effect which I like. Just purchased the pads as well. I will write more hopefully soon.

I love this serum. I am 51 and have had freckles all my life which turned into dark blotches in my later years…this definitely helps to the point where I only use a tinted spf for coverage during the day…and I have tried a lot of different products…I love that SkinMedica Even & Correct Advanced Brightening Treatment Serum doesn’t dry out my sensitive skin.

Great for Melasma
I have been using SkinMedica's Lytera for several years and I liked it because it kept my melasma at bay. However, I prefer their new Even & Correct serum because I have noticed that my brown spots have actually lightened a bit. They are not as dark as before. I will repurchase!

Lytera 2.0 was a better product
I used and loved the Lytera 2.0 for years. This new even and correct product is not the same at all. I used it constantly just like the Lytera. when I layer anything over it, it balls up, and I have to wipe everything off, because I can’t do my makeup over it. Even if I give it time to absorb into my skin. It’s also a weird brownish color, I thought maybe I got an old/expired product, but the other products in the even and correct line are the same. I will not purchase anything from the even and correct line again.

SkinMedica Even & Correct Serum
I try to use this every morning after I wash my face. I first apply skin SkinCeuticals discoloration defense and then I apply the SkinMedica Even & Correct Advanced Brightening Treatment Serum over it. I go about my morning routine, stretching, easy yoga or pilates and smoothie. I then take two clean organic cotton rounds in water and wash off my applications of the two serums that both help with discoloration and then apply my daily facial serums and moisturizer. I sometimes use this Even & Correct serum under a mask, especially if I get too much sunlight. I am outdoors doing gardening and walking, especially in the spring and summer. My skin gets quite a bit of sunlight just doing my regular outdoor activities. This serum from SkinMedica truly helps keep my skin even and smooth. It is a must have for me since I love being outdoors.

I am not sure how much it is preventing the hyperpigmentation, but it is containing and maintaining the brightness of my skin. I will continue to use as a preventative method, although it doesn't remove the spots that I already have. It is light and absorbs well.

Wonderful serum
The serum is moisturizing without being greasy I purchased this product due to the fact that it contains niacinamide, which is known to be anti-aging. I have used other skinmedica products like TNS and the post procedure duo. This product is a little less pricey. I think i will continue to use the TNS advanced serum which is my favorite and gives a definite glow to the skin

Does not work as well as Lytera 2.0
I have sensitive combo acne-prone skin and am approaching 40. I found the holy grail in SkinMedica, especially the TNS serum and Lytera 2.0. Fast forward to now: Lytera 2.0 was discontinued and replaced with this product, so I bought it, hoping for equivalent results. While this product hasn’t broken me out, it does not work as well on my hyperpigmentation and dark spots. I’ll continue using it until I run out, then back to the drawing board. Sigh

I have been using LYTERA 2.0, so you can imagine my disappointment when it was discontinued. I thought I would give this product a try. I have been using this for about 2 weeks now in am/pm. I do love the feel and how it is absorbed by my skin. I will have to see if it provides the same result as LYTERA. Fingers crossed.

I like the consistency of it and you do get a large bottle of it so I suppose that does help offset the price for me a little. The jury is still out if it does help brighten my skin, especially my melasma. However, i have not noticed any breakouts by using this product.
