Nothing like the original HA5! I returned this! I’ve used the original for many years and loved it so much! I never went without it! I received this in its place, and was very disappointed. The original felt so smooth and just melted into my skin. This one, however felt greasy, made me break out, and smells horrible. I’ve been looking for a dupe for the original since they sadly made the decision to discontinue it and replace it with this one. I keep hoping that they will end up bringing the old back! Please bring back the original HA5!!!

organic compounds cause rancid smell
I accidentally ordered this version of the SkinMedica HA5. The organic compounds in this product make for a rancid smell when applying. I called customer service and was told that is how it is, too bad, I usually use SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator which I give 5 stars. I'm sure you get good results from this formulation but I can not wait to be done with it and reorder the correct product. It is disgusting and should come with a warning.

Disappointed to say … not for me
Disappointed that I am unable to use the new version of HA5. I have been using the original HA5 since it first became available many, many years ago and had hoped to switch over to this newer version. I see others have noted here that they found the smell to be very off putting. I agree, and unfortunately for me, not only was the smell off putting but it caused an allergic reaction making my eyes and nose burn and water. The smell did not quickly dissipate nor did the uncomfortable allergic side effects. I have had no problems with the 4 other SM products that I have been using for umpteen years. This product is just not for me. I very much hope SkinMedica does not discontinue their original HA5!!!

Really Disappointed
I was so excited about this new formulation. Having used the previous "older" formulation for at least a decade, I didn't know how it could possibly be improved. I was hoping that my skin would look even more hydrated, but it didn't. Instead, it dries my skin out. The day after I use it my skin flakes and peels. :( At first, I thought maybe it was something else I was using, but I wasn't doing anything different. I won't purchase it again.

I hope they don’t ever use this as a replacement for the other HA 5 . This did not work for me. It has a weird smell that is not pleasant. I had high hopes thinking it was an upgrade to the other one. But on first application it just did not show any results the next morning. Now the old HA 5 was great my face just drunk it in and looked fresh and dewy. This one makes my skin a bit red and irritated and looks dull and not tight and refreshed. I’ve been using it diligently but still no great results. I tried to like it but will continue using the older product until I can no longer get it just switch to another brand.

Very disappointed
This was supposed to hydrate for up to 48 hours. It just sat on top of my skin, doing nothing. If anything it made my skin drier. For such a high price I expected more. I intend to stick with a different brand.
