Effective Retinol
I very much like SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.25 and have started my husband using it too. I can tell there is increased skin 'turnover' and I have more color in my face after only about two weeks' use. Since the 0.25 complex did not irritate my skin, I am going to buy 1.0 next time. This is a good product that is easily and evenly applied. A little goes a long way, so it's also cost-effective.

Disclosure: I think I may have posted about 3 reviews in my life but THIS one was worth the time it took to write! I have tried retinol products in the past (as advised, start slow, make sure your skin is completely dry...blah, blah, blah) and still had issues with super dry skin, discomfort and peeling. I desperately wanted the results that everyone was ranting and raving about but my skin and retinol just didn't seem to get along. My skin got brighter and smoother, it did a great job lightening my acne scars with just a couple of uses!!!! It was SO nice to not have ANY reactions at all!!! NOW I know why people love this stuff!!! It's definitely a new "can't live without" product for me. I plan on using the .25 strength for 6 months before bumping up to the SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.50. I have SUPER sensitive & acne prone skin and SkinMedica has yet to fail me. It has been worth EVERY penny and is hands down, one of my favorite brands.

Can't tell if it worked
I use a HA serum that is good for "plumping", so that plus this worked together to reduce/fill in fine lines (not that I have many yet honestly at 33 years old). With that being said, I can't tell if this worked. I used it for 2 months. Maybe I should've taken before and after pics. But from the naked eye test, my face just looks clear, which is good. Wasn't a remarkable difference with the few smile lines I have. It was my first retinol cream though, and I'll say the dosage is good, because it didn't affect my skin at all, and I worked my way up to using it every night (after about 2 weeks).

A small less then dime amount will do and spreads easily. Start slow and build up to being able to tolerate daily application. If too drying apply moisturizer first. Again less is more when it comes to Retinols. Great for acne, hyperpigmentations, wrinkles and acne scar of used regularly. Product lasts a long time before reordering.
