Good product but…
This is a solid product but you have to be careful with using too much too soon. Also, you may want to refrain from using this on your neckline as this gave me a rash there when I did. Perhaps the skin in that area is more sensitive than in other areas? Otherwise, it’s a good product.

Gentle and effective
SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.25 is friendly for beginners. I use it 3 days in a row and rest for one day. The result is significant and side effects are acceptable. SkinMedica really find a balance between being gentle and effective. It will be a long term product that I repurchase again and again.

I tried this because the amount of retinol was lower since the stronger one was too harsh for my skin. So far I have been able to use it without a lot of peeling. I hope it continues to do so and perhaps I can move up to a stronger formula by the time I finish the bottle.

0.25 Good For Retinol Beginners Like Me
I have been hesitant to use Retinol on my face because I have heard that it is strong and can cause peeling and/or irritation. My dermatologist recommended 0.25 to start. After some online research, I decided to give SkinMedica a try. I started using it about twice a week at night. There was very little peeling skin and it was tolerable. I just wish the price was more affordable.

Effective Retinol
I very much like SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.25 and have started my husband using it too. I can tell there is increased skin 'turnover' and I have more color in my face after only about two weeks' use. Since the 0.25 complex did not irritate my skin, I am going to buy 1.0 next time. This is a good product that is easily and evenly applied. A little goes a long way, so it's also cost-effective.

Perfect for new Retinol users!
Disclosure: I think I may have posted about 3 reviews in my life but THIS one was worth the time it took to write! I have tried retinol products in the past (as advised, start slow, make sure your skin is completely dry...blah, blah, blah) and still had issues with super dry skin, discomfort and peeling. I desperately wanted the results that everyone was ranting and raving about but my skin and retinol just didn't seem to get along. After a really bad hormonal breakout I was told to give it another try. I came across the SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.25 & decided to give it a go one more time. I purchased it and started using that night, I skipped the next day and used it the following day and noticed I had no reaction at all! Fingers crossed, I decided to started using it every night and prayed my skin wouldn't spiral out of control and OH....MY....WORD! My skin got brighter and smoother, it did a great job lightening my acne scars with just a couple of uses!!!! It was SO nice to not have ANY reactions at all!!! NOW I know why people love this stuff!!! It's definitely a new "can't live without" product for me. I plan on using the .25 strength for 6 months before bumping up to the SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.50. I have SUPER sensitive & acne prone skin and SkinMedica has yet to fail me. It has been worth EVERY penny and is hands down, one of my favorite brands.
