A Necessary Addition to Skincare
I have 70 year old skin, and have been using retinol for several years now. This retinol seems stronger than others I have used. I did get some irritation on my neck, so I am now using it every other night on my neck. It may be a little soon to say this is better than other retinols, but I am pleased with it thus far. I also like the additional ingredients that SkinMedica has added to their formula, the PhytoShield Complex, which is an antioxidant complex. I decided it was time to try this brand and this product, being that it generally gets rave reviews from its users. I would encourage others to try the SkinMedica Age Defense Retinol Complex.

I've tried retinol (low percentage) from another reputable brand and did not have favorable results. This retinol from this brand has caused me no negative reactions and I think I will be able to move up to a higher percentage much more quickly! Exciting things to come for my skincare!!!

Glad I gave it a try
I started using the Retinol 0.25 complex with the SkinMedica TNS Advanced + Serum system. I’ve worked my way up to 3 times a week. I do have some peeling and irritation as expected. Overall I see an improvement in my skin texture, discoloration and wrinkles. I plan to bump up to the 0.5 once my skin can tolerate nightly use.

Love this gentle yet very effective retinol complex by SkinMedica. I usually love SkinMedica products and this product is no different. Safe for sensitive skin prone to rosacea
I've been using this product for several years and I'm very happy with the results. I wanted a retinol serum but my skin is so very sensitive and prone to rosacea when exposed to certain products. I chose the lowest strength which is 0.25 because I thought the 1.0 and 0.5 would be too much for my sensitive skin. There are cheaper retinol products on the market, but a lot of them use containers that expose the contents to air and/or light which can potentially degrade the retinol. I am very pleased with the container used by SkinMedica because the integrity of the product is never compromised by air or light. The results of the 0.25 lower strength version are still fabulous and I'm never worried about getting rosacea while using it.
