very strong retinol
Perhaps I should have gotten a lighter dose of this retinol product. I am not new to using retinoids and I wanted to try this because it was more affordable than some others. My whole face peeled and it took a little over a week to recover. However I will say, after the peeling was over, my face looked fantastic! I recommend started with one of the lighter doses.

Pleasantly surprised by this product. It has a strength to it for over the counter retinol that similar products don’t match. I use it every other night. I hope to work up to nightly. I do have very sensitive skin and this works for my skin. I did get a slight peel but not in a lizard sort of way. I know it is working to renew my skin. The peeling has now subsided. Will repurchase.

The Best Retinol
I have used this product for years & absolutely love it. I have tried to use cheaper retinols & more expensive they just don’t compare. The others doesn’t seem to have the same result of brightening smoothing making lines less prominent

Great for aging skin
This is a good reliable safe retinol without the harsh effects. However, I strongly recommend starting at a lower dose .25 and working your way up to the 1.0 to avoid side effects. Unless you have already used a medical grade retinol before. It’s important to use a lotion afterwards to avoid peeling or dryness. Great product for aging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and pigmentation. Works well with other skin care products. You only need a pea size pump to cover your skin. Be sure to absolutely wear a high spf when using this or any actives on your skin to avoid sun damage or worse, the big C! Will purchase again as I’ve been using this line of products for well over 10 years and it shows. Best ~

Excellent for Firming
I've been using Retinol Complex 1.0 for many years and it's been great in keeping my skin firm as the years progress. Goes on very smooth and sinks in right away, can seem a bit heavy at first and in the summer, but not overly so. Make sure to use the lesser strengths first, as in the .25 and .50 before using the 1.0 as the 1.0 can make your skin red as in a sunburn if you're not accustomed to it. I've also mixed a little of the C&E cream with it (on my fingers) before placing on my neck and it works great, as that helps to dilute the strength of the 1.0 so my skin does not get irritated on my neck.

Helps with skin texture and wrinkles

Too Harsh
While I am a 1% retinol user for the past 8 years, I've never experienced the harshness of this product's effect on my skin. Small red spots appear and it takes several days for them to disappear. While retinol absolutely makes the skin smooth (does not affect larger wrinkles, say around the mouth), having to endure this skin damage has never been my experience with any other pharmaceutical 1% retinol. I only tried this one because the one I've used in the past is routinely out of stock. I have found that the fewer ingredients there are in a product, besides the most important one, in this case, retinol, the better. I am now mixing this product with a cheaper facial moisturizing lotion. (PM). That helps but not with the red spots. So unless you want a face that feels dry and irritated in the morning with a red spot or two when you look in the mirror, this one's not for you. I realize that my skin has gotten dryer as I age (but I get unsolicited compliments on the smoothness of it), but dropping down to 5% retinol is not in my plan. Back to my old standby!!
