Love this retinol. I've had no peeling or anything like that. Makes me wonder if it's really working? I haven't seen any changes but still feels wonderful on my face. Expensive but if it works it's worth it!

Awesome retinol
My dermatologist suggested I switch from my prescription retin a to this because it has a better delivery system to the skin and it’s less irritating. He was right. I don’t have all the side effects like the dry peeling irritated skin but I’m still able to use the strong 1% to get the max benefits.

Mild for a 1.0 and not drying
Like so many of us, I have tried numerous retinol products. This one is exceptionally mild for a 1% retinol product and it doesn't overly dry my skin or cause redness or splotchiness. I do go ahead and add a moisturizer (HA5 by Skinmedica) after a few minutes of letting it soak in. I am 70 and my skin needs the moisture.

I love the SkinMedica Retinol. Previously I had been using the .5 and noticed a difference, but not quite the results I was hoping for. Bumping up to the 1.0 did the trick. SkinMedica Retinol Complex 1.0
I had been using the 0.5 Retinol cream and thought I could bump up to the 1.0 unfortunately it was too strong for my skin and within 2 days I was peeling full on from the nose and chin area and proceeded to peel for the next week or so over my entire face. When applying it, I never felt any harsh or burning, the lotion is nice but before I knew it I was peeling again. I tried to reduce it to once a week but still peeled so am going back to the 0.5 retinol which works fine for me. I like that these formulas didn't make me break out like other brands have.

I’ve been using this retinol 1.0 and I love how my skin looks. I added it to my regimen 3 times a week over the last two years and my skin looks great. My doctor had me try AlphaRet once, and honestly I missed my SkinMedica retinol. I got back to using it even before finishing the AlphaRet.

This is the end of my third week, and my skin has not looked this bad in a very long time. I expected the peeling, but my skin has never been this sensitive/painful, and now that the peeling has slowed, I have hyperpigmentation over both cheeks. Overall, I have not had good luck with SkinMedica products.
