Relief for extremely dry skin! It’s very moisturizing, a little bit sticky but ok for nighttime use. I’ve used the cream version as well and like the consistency better, probably will go back to it when I finish the balm. Unscented is a huge plus!

I first purchased this last year when I had a bad bout of winter eczema on my hands from cold weather and frequent hand washing. It was *everything* I could want in a hand lotion: a rich, creamy texture, which absorbed quickly, and left my hands feeling soothed and well-moisturized. Within a week my eczema cleared up, and as long as I continued to use this nightly, it stayed away. Since then, it appears that Avene has reformulated the Eczema Relief Balm with more Dimethicone. I no longer have the original product, so I can't be completely sure, but I immediately noticed that the newer product has more "slip" to it, and leaves my hands feeling as if they have invisible silicone coating on them. It's not bad and still seems to be effective, but it doesn't have the same luxurious feel it once did. That said, it's still a great product, and I continue to recommend it to friends who are suffering with chapped hands and eczema.

I had a very irritated rash pop up on my face within hours of applying this spray. I'm not allergic to any ingredient in this, so I can only conclude it was too drying and therefore irritating to my skin. I've been dealing with dryness and a rash on and off ever since, for 1.5 weeks now. This is meant for moist wounds and macerated areas. I have a lot of contact dermatitis allergies and this Avene Cicalfate product was the only one safe for me. I know others can use this without problems but for me it was way too drying for the face.
