I prefer all-mineral sunscreens, and this one is comfortable on my skin (mineral sunscreens can be drying). My skin is dry and I live in a super dry climate, so I am happy to tolerate how emollient this sunscreen is (sits on skin, shines). I probably don’t need moisturizer under, but I do anyway. No irritation, no odor, gives a brightness to the skin (my skin is light). Works well under makeup. No complaints here.

Best so far for me
I have sensitive skin with rosacea, and have tried every kind of physical sunscreen. They make my face ache and dry out. This one has been the best for me. The tint is nice, it goes on smoothly, and moisturizes. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars, is because after having it on a few hours, my skin starts to hurt. But maybe that's just my skin.

Great for my face
This has been my go-to sunscreen for a long time now. I started wearing sunscreen on my face a few years ago and switched to this one based on a sample I received. It goes on smoothly and there's just enough tint to give my face a more finished look without makeup. My skin is dry so I use a moisturizer with this over it. It lasts all day and does not dry my skin or settle into the fine lines.

Great sunscreen for my sensitive skin (dry to normal during winter and combination to normal in warmer weather). No issues with clogging pores, applies easily and naturally alone or under my makeup, as I use the un-tinted for when I wear makeup and tinted on no makeup days. I’ve tried the GLOW line, but unfortunately it made me break out, and the CLEAR line is too drying for my skin. RESTORE is my go to from now on, year round.

I love EltaMD products. Have used the clear 46 sunscreen for years after it was recommended by my dermotologist. I also use several of their other products. I’ve been using this product for a little over a month. I like that it goes on clear and doesn’t feel overly heavy. It’s hard to judge at this point if it is restoring some of the sun damage I have.

Chalky smooth
I received a sample packet of the EltaMD UV Restore SPF 40 and the product was very smoothing and moisturizing with a slightly dewy finish. It made my skin look fantastic so after three uses, I bought the full size. The full size product leaves a drier, whiter, chalky finish that is not as pleasing to my sensitive, dry skin. If the SPF were higher, I would likely buy it again, but since it is not, I will go back to the La Roche-Posay mineral SPF 50.

This moisturizes my fairly dry skin, but does not leave it looking greasy. I just put a bit of setting powder over it (if I'm not going to wear foundation) and I'm done! No fragrance at all and amazing protection, plus it's supposed to help with your overall skin appearance over time.

I like this product. With it's being tinted I can wear it without a foundation. When it first goes on it feels greasy but once it gets absorbed into the skin it looks fine and feels good.

Perfect for Sensitive, Dry Skin
I have dry, rosacea-prone, reactive fair skin. To make things worse, I developed a sensitivity to niacinamide last year, and could no longer use Elta MD UV Clear (tinted). Calamity! Every sunblock I tried, including UV Elements, dried out my skin or broke me out. So, based on the reviews, I rolled the dice and ordered UV Restore. IT'S PERFECT! It works best for me applied directly to my skin, without a moisturizer under it. The tint is lovely, and this creamy sunblock covers any redness in my cheeks. It dries to a lovely finish, and my face was moisturized and protected all day! To remove it, I use Elta's Foaming Cleanser as the first step in my PM cleanse, as this sunblock did leave a film on my skin. It's a terrific sunblock and a beautiful tinted moisturizer. Highly recommend!!

I use the elements usually because my skin is very light so this one is better for more tanned skin … I buy it for my mother in law because she’s darker than me and she can’t use anything else now… and I use only the elements and the clear and also can’t use any other brand anymore… I’ve tried all elta md sunscreens and they all absorb very well, don’t sting the eyes and don’t leave white cast… they are amazing for everyone you just need to buy the right kind for your skin and then you won’t use any other brand because this one simply is the best…
