I used both this Obagi and La Roche-Posay retinol. Obagi's packaging is easier to use but the La Roche-Posay retinol's price is more reasonable.

Use with care
After using another .5 Retinol on my face 3x a week for over a year without problems I tried this higher dose cream several nights in a row and had a terrible experience. My face was red and peeling for days. The dermatologist said it was a topical reaction. Use this with great care if your skin is sensitive.

So Far, So Good
I’ve always been sensitive to retinol so am ramping up slowly. Previously, I’ve been using the .5 strength with great results so thought it was time to ramp up. I am doing this one every other night & plan to do so for the next month or so. So far, so good. I will be 65 this year & most people think I’m in my early 50’s. I attribute much of that to the products that I’m using.

Sensitive skin
I’ve been using this a little under a month, so I can’t speak to results yet but can say that I’m surprised with how sensitive my rosacea skin is, that I haven’t had a reaction. I’m extremely excited to see what this product does. For the first couple of days areas around my eyebrows and nose were peeling which is to be expected. It does not burn it does not irritate it does not smell bad.

Good retinol product
This retinol cream is the 2nd best that I've ever tried. It was hard to know whether to give it 4 or 5 stars. It has a smooth texture and is easy to pump and get the just the right amount. It doesn't sting my skin or make my skin flaky and super dry. It's cheaper than the absolute best retinol cream I've ever tried and I think it's definitely worth the cost for the results.

It Works But Need Patience
I started with Obagi Retinol 0.5 cream and slowly worked my way to 1.0 cream. Still got my 1st purge with this. It was painful, but after that, my skin get better and almost cleared. I still use it until now to keep my acne at bay. I still have peeling issue if my skin is not moisturized well before applying. Recommend trying but be patient.

I have been using Obagi products for decades. I do like this retinol cream. I have not had any problems with irritation. I will say, I have been using retinol for a long time, so if you are a first time user, I recommend starting with the less concentrated creams first. I mix this with the Blend, or even a light moisturizer, and apply at night only. Love Obagi!

If you aren't used to retinol, maybe try something a little more diluted - but if your skin is prepared for a little more intensity, this will do the trick. Use a moisturizer over it though - it is a bit drying, which is unavoidable with retinol.
